If you are donating money you can do it directly on their website. ToysforTots.org

The site also shows all the drop off locations etc.

Very nice thing of you to do.

Music 2.0

Pretty interesting concept developed in Korea, it is a digital music format (like mp3) that will deliver songs in a 6 channel format where the listener will have control over the individual volumes of the drums, vocals, guitar, whatever. Essentially allowing them to customize YOUR music for themselv...

I remember bitching a fit two years ago cuz I had to pay 'fifty some' bucks to drive to Myrtle Beach... ah the good old days. Fishing at Raystown is about the furthest vacation I'm planning. I thought gas prices were insane, I'm just glad I don't have to buy heating oil. My friend has oil heat and t...

Try WMRecorder. Captures streaming audio/video.

I don't know what the limitations of the shareware version are though.

Or you probably have a 1/8" stereo output jack? Just loop it back into the 1/8" input and use like audacity or something free?

Wow, that sucks. Mr. Kimmel was my guidance counselor when I went to Keith Jr. High and was probably once of the nicest people I have ever met.

(I actually had no idea he was a drummer.)

My first PC was a Packard Bell 133mHz with a 2-gig hard drive... Wow, i think i had the same one! Mine only had the 33.6 modem though... and 16mb of ram... couldn't even play a lot of games. Still it was the 'shit' compared to my friend who only had the 100mhz processor. Freaking pcs were expensive...

I think its funny the first time it snows everyone drives super slow and cautious. After that it can snow like crazy and its like no big deal and everyone just drives normally again.

Gotta get the first one outta the way I suppose.

I seem to remember a music store that was located in Juniata a few years back that had a 'jam room' where bands could practice. Maybe you could find a couple other bands and go together renting someplace and split the days up, that would be cool cuz then everyone has specific days and the overhead w...

Some friends of mine used to rent out a storage unit for practice. Some places aren't cool with it though. They are fairly affordable and you pay by the month. Probably not a good idea at this time of year tho, just tossing it out there... that and it would be a bad idea to leave your equipment there.

We have a little M-audio oxygen controller in the studio to use with softsynths/samplers in case someone wants to use it. ... Usually end up using the Motif though. One time i assigned all the sliders to control the mixer on the daw, but it was a pain to setup and in the end it was just easier to us...

Ok I guess I'll go first... I usually don't post on here unless its something worthwhile, and I think this thread is. That being said, I'm not a musician. I run a recording studio and a little-itsy-bitsy indie label. I don't do either with the hopes of making serious cash. I do it because I love the...

I enjoyed this article very much. I especially liked the part that said.... Talent is only fifty percent. Desire and perseveranc...

For Pro Tools certification you can take the 101 and 110 classes online at Berklee College of Music at about $1200 a pop. You still need to go to a training center to get the 201 & 210 classes for the "Operator Certification" and the 310 classes for the "Expert Certification"...

$150.00 to rent a place that provides the sound and lights? That's a hell of a deal. At a $5.00 cover you make your money back off of the first 30 people. Now if you have 4-5 bands playing (like they usually do there) I'm sure that in the span of the show you probably have upwards of 80-100 people (...
