I'm trying to update the lighting at Aldo's. Can anybody point me in a direction for a controller that works with the old 10 pin connectors. It has 4 outs(1-6,7-12,13-18,and aux.) It's an ETA controller, who happens to have gotten out of the lighting business. I have some pics if they help but you get the point.
Thanks
Steve

Are the connectors the old flat pin type (chinch jones) connector? 0-10 volt control protocol ?
If this thing uses 0-10 volt protocol many manufacters have made interface boxes to allow newer consoles to be used with older dimmers.
Nsi makes the DMX 16 which will interface their microplex based consoles to 0-10 volt dimmers. They also have or have had the I/F-501 control interface which will make many protocols interface with one another. It supports AMX, DMX, MPX as well as midi.

I have one of those I/F-501 thingies. As I recall, it wasn't cheap but it does handle alot of protocals. And you can mix or match pretty much anything to anything and even serveral different protocals at the same time. BUT, I think it only does 4 channels of analog. And that may just be on the Lumanet protocal?? Not to sure on that though?onetooloud wrote:Are the connectors the old flat pin type (chinch jones) connector? 0-10 volt control protocol ?

IMHO, I would try to get into the DMX world asap. Unfortunately, most DMX to Analog converters are going to be pricey. If you're on a tight budget, just shop eBay for another analog console. I've seen some old Leprecons go for pennies compaired to what they sold for new. Yeh, get some pin matrix going and your old school.
