IUP has nothing sound engineer, or recording engineer wise. NOTHING! I went there for 2 years undecided, because I heard they had drumset as a major instrument for the music program. I was dead wrong! Everything there is garden variety marching band oriented. Not to say marching band is bad just nothing I ever wanted to do in college. I do regret not doing marching band in highschool though.

For Pro Tools certification you can take the 101 and 110 classes online at Berklee College of Music at about $1200 a pop. You still need to go to a training center to get the 201 & 210 classes for the "Operator Certification" and the 310 classes for the "Expert Certification". Most people don't go that far because of the cost, if you were in a big city like Nashville, NYC, or LA you would probably benefit from certifications like those to get ahead. IMO, probably not worth the $20k debt just to learn everything about a daw.
Berklee also has basic online courses etc. for most production / daws / engineering etc.
