i'll tell you what you need... someone working on the inside. you want this problem taken care of? you get someone inside the organization and have a handle on things. you scratch their back, they scratch yours... whatever that means. To beat something, sometimes you have to stoop low and suck it up...

sounds like you guys would do well at a punk rock show and have the potential of getting a fanbase of local punk fans, but i honestly don't see the appeal of pop punk. keep doing what you like and best of luck to you guys... you are solid at what you do, but don't let pop punk stay stagnant... this ...

Re: sorry

spelling may be off BUT 2 years ago I went to see Tool and the opener was " Fantomis??" dude it was noise at best. I was listening to Delirium Cordia by the Fantomas a few weeks ago.. Mike Patton is great with Faith No More and Tomahawk, but what was he thinking?! an entire album of noise...

nightwish isn't really that weird though. i admit it is an unusual listen, hearing organs and distorted power chords over screams and such is crazy... but mainstream enough to be played on the radio. the weirdest band that you may have heard of (because i'm sure there are alot of bands that try to b...

Could you ever "quit music"?

Do you think anything could ever happen that would make you completely stop playing, writing, loving music? I was in a band that received good reviews a few years ago and has been dormant or "on hiatus" for a couple years now. We are all doing our own things but still get together when we ...

Frank Zappa and Igor Stravinsky must've played billiards often. I have no proof or reasoning to back that up. That was an attempt to bring the thread back. Now it is time to let it stray... I like blueberry pop-tarts the best. What is the best flavor of Pop-Tart for you?! (if you say "Monkey&qu...

i actually think Angel Dust by FNM gets too much credit. The whole Mike Patton thing never made sense to me until I heard Tomahawk and Mr. Bungle. Now those are some wicked awesome bands.

Zappa's Jazz From Hell better be all composed, it'd be hard to improvise an album completely created digitally with the help of a computer. Piano pieces with pitch-bends make my mind melt and smile. I'd like to discuss Jazz From Hell and compare it to earlier works, but I don't want to hijack a thre...

Igor Stravinsky and/or Frank Zappa Stravinsky was one of Zappa's favorite composers and it is obvious in some of Frank's compositions. Don't make the mistake of thinking that Zappa was a comedy musician, he did the goofy songs to make money so he could make real music... listen to Hot Rats, The Yell...

Tom Waits covers? that would rock hard, man. Actually, I heard Kent was running for president in 2008 with a platform of making Altoona the nation's capital and selling the South to Canada. Sitting around Altoona with diplomats while in a Canadian Sandwich wouldn't be that bad.

that's actually a really neat little story. i was at a show by this amazing band that incorporated classical acoustic guitar playing into a prog-metal rock sound. Anyway, the lead singer/acoustic guitarist was probably one of the best I had ever heard. He was like a Stevie Ray Vaughn/Steve Vai/whate...

eh, think about it first

The father should know better than to subject his little daughter to political bitterness. It would be a different situation if it was a Bush rally. The father is an a-hole.

it probably closed because Stephanie's is such a wussy name for a bar. What kind of big, tough guy wants to grab a beer at Stephanie's? maybe they will reopen with a name like "Skullcrusher's Manly Bar" or "Testoterone Junction". or do they sound like gay bars?

i've seen that before. seems kinda weird, you really need to be reading the words while listening. I know Jimmy Page was really into the Occult, but I don't know how much he would influence Robbie Plant. Plant would much rather write a song about wizards and mountains and somehow tie it into a JRR T...

What's with all the new sponsorships all of a sudden?

don't let the Altoona music scene turn into a corporate advertising force! don't bend over and take it from the MAN! fight to stay independent! make music for music's sake! screw big business!!!!

just kidding, congrats to those who are sponsored. that rawkz.
