Many years ago, violinist Itzhak Perlman gave a performance in New York. During his concert, one of the strings on his violin broke.
The sound could be heard thrughtout the auditorium and the music suddenly came to a stop.
The crowd waited patiently for the string to be replaced. But much to everyone's surprise, Perlman took a moment to himself and then motioned
for the conductor to begin where they had left off. For the remainder of the concert, Perlman played on three strings what should have been played on four.
The audience gave him a standing ovation for his incredible feat. Perlman
smiled and humbly raised his bow. "You know," he told them, "sometimes it is the artist's task to find out how much music you can make with what you have left."

that's actually a really neat little story.
i was at a show by this amazing band that incorporated classical acoustic guitar playing into a prog-metal rock sound. Anyway, the lead singer/acoustic guitarist was probably one of the best I had ever heard. He was like a Stevie Ray Vaughn/Steve Vai/whatever of classical guitar... (maybe not Yngwie though). Anyway, during the last song he just went nuts... ripping through solos and strumming the hell out of the guitar (no pick the entire show). He popped, plucked, strummed, made the guitar sound so powerful. He somehow managed to strum with such intensity that 2 or 3 of the strings broke. FROM STRUMMING WITH NO PICK ON AN ACOUSTIC! so he finished the set like that. amazing stuff.
eh, thats all.
