Game 2 on NBC.

Games 3 & 4 on Vs. (Channel 39 on Atlantic Broadband, yay me!)

Games 5, 6 & 7 (if needed) on NBC.

----------------------

What a game! Tell ya what, whoever wins this thing is gonna pay the price, as the Pens came out just NASTY mean. You can tell that they are not intimidated like they were last year. Great game, but they need to shoot more. The defensemen (especially Gonchar) were really super-hesitant about shooting, always looking to pass to Malkin, Crosby, and Stahl. Can't quite figure that one out.

Glad Detroit got the win, though. Darren Helm (#43) is gonna be awesome as the years go on. Speedy little bastard, that one.

Game 2, tomorrow night! Go Wings!!

Oh, and I have to bust...best goal scorer on the night? M.A. Fleury. 2 shots, 2 own goals. The Wings thank you.

Kev, are there reasons that keep you here that we don't know about? :D

You always take Michigan over Penn State and now the Redwings over the Pens. You have been here for a while now. You could let yourself start to like local teams, just maybe a little. Are those Michigan ties that strong?

they put something in the water out there.

In a related note, why the hell wasn't there a delay of game penalty on zetterburg covering up the puck when it was laying on osgood?

ROTFL, Yeah, they are that strong. I do support local teams, I root for Penn State unless they are playing Michigan, and I do root for the Pens unless they are playing the Red Wings. I grew up literally 2 blocks from Michigan Stadium, and my pop always managed to have season tickets for the Wings and the Detroit Tigers when I was a kid. It's in my blood. I have turned into a serious Steelers fan over the last 10 years, though. No sense in rooting for the Lions.

The only way they can call a penalty on that play, according to the NHL rulebook, is if Zetterberg had closed his hand on the puck. There was no way for the refs to see it, and only questionable goals are reviewable in the NHL. I slo-mo'd it on my DVR, and I couldn't tell if he did or not. I suspect he did, but couldn't see it.

I did enjoy the way the refs let the boys play, though. Lots of hitting, and they let some serious roughing penalties go. That's frickin' hockey, there!

I will give the Red Wings credit for having one of the best teams to ever hit the ice, but there's no way Abracadabra or whatever that guy who scored last night is a first line player. They are a good fourth line, but with the salary cap there is no way they are better than any other teams first line.

like outshooting and chancing the wings?

I know pretty much every goaltender gives his posts a little love after some assistance, but osgood had better be taking his out to a fancy dinner.

Pens & R.W's...

I think it's cool the ref's are letting 'em play....... And I'm not "crying", but breaking a stick with a slash, right in front of the ref and it's a "no call"? Now that's kinda obvious, don't ya think? (Oh, 5 secs later the RW's score.) Even if it didn't/wouldn't effect the outcome. That's still poop!!! :P

find yourself a video of the CSN feed of the game, the "slash" hossa committed wasn't even close. Dupuis broke his own stick.

Now the 2 penalty shots that should have been awarded from zetterburg covering the puck in the crease in 2 consectutive games is another matter.

I didnt get to watch much of the last game, due to setting up and playin with the canes on sunday, but I did notice flower getting knocked down, people getting shoved on top of him, him having no way to move, then the wings scoring.

Bring back the crease rule.

The Pens did out play the Wings last night. They are playing with the puck to long and not shooting enough. They can't seem to stop them on the power plays and to even let them score one man down was just a shame. Malkin got a bit frustrated and showed a side that surprised me. I still have hope the WINGS will take it in 7. :D :D
