Best Use Of Songs In Movies..
I'd say
Freebird (Devil's Rejects)
Welcome Home-King Diamond (Clerks 2) *Although they should have played it when the Qwk Stop re-opened*
Misery- Soul Asylum (Clerks 2)
I'll think of some more later.

I can no longer listen to either of these tunes without envisioning the scenes from the movies. It's as if the songs were written specifically for these flicks!faeriewench wrote:I concurJimi Hatt wrote:"Stuck in the Middle With You" from Reservoir Dogs
And "Singing in the Rain" from Clockwork Orange
The same is true with Tuesday's Gone by Skynyrd at the beginning if Billy Madision!

Hmmm
I will agree that the best use of a song in a movie is Stuck In the Middle with You from Reservoir Dogs,
My favorite tho is Trigger by In Flames on the Freddy vs Jason Soundtrack...
Also I thought that Tuesdays Gone was in Happy Gillmore not Billy Madison

Not a big fan of the tune, but the trippy feel to it made it work really well:
Stranglehold in the club scene in Rockstar, right after Marky Mark's first gig with Steel Dragon..... Everybody'd getting wasted, trippin', practically doing everybody else right on the dancefloor... the solo section of the tune, with its lazy, repetitive groove playing... thought it worked well in that scene......

You are so right! My bad! I always associate that song with Grandma wearing the Gene Simmons mask!UNEARTHA7XMatt wrote: Also I thought that Tuesdays Gone was in Happy Gillmore not Billy Madison

When Black Betty by Ram Jam was playing while Johnny Depp was walking through the airport in Blow.

"The End" by The Doors in "Apocalypse Now" from 1979 - pure genius (there I go again - stuck in the 70's, & why not?). Very eerie the way you can hear the helicopter in the background. It gives the viewer the sense of finality, I think. That's brilliant art in my opinion.

I know I'm missing some but....
Get Together (Youngbloods) - Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Hurricane (Bob Dylan) - Hurricane (interesting that this was a song that told the whole story many years before it was a movie)
Nature's Way (Spirit) and Time Has Come Today(Chambers Bros) - The 60's
The End - Apocolypse Now
Ballad of Easy Rider (Byrds) - Easy Rider

Born to be Wild - Easy Rider... so cool how it starts just as the scene changes.
I haven't seen the movie Heavy Metal in a few years, but wasn't the "The Mob Rules" part a bit short, just like Sabbath's "Time Machine" bit was barely noticeable in Wayne's World?
(er... or did they actually throw some of E5150 in Heavy Metal as well? Too many beans ago...)

I hear you...for me, it is "Foxy Lady" and the dance (?) Garth does!

Along with many already mentioned, "Animal House" and "The Big Chill". While I watch the former at least once a year if not more, I have not seen the latter in years. From what I recall, it has a fairly decent, fitting soundtrack.
