I believe the US military death toll in Iraq stands a bit over 3000... funny how that works out. Bush's body count is nearly the same as Osama bin Laden's.
Incidentally, Osama bin Laden has also survived all of the beleaguered stupidity of the Bush administration as well. He's still drawing breath as we "liberate" Iraq, 2000 miles away from Tora Bora. And Bush didn't exactly hunt Ken Lay down with dogs, did he? Texas oilmen gotta stick together in a world of books-cooking and corporate tax breaks. Shall I go on?-------->JMS

Instead, President Clinton was credited with the pseudo-boom of the late 90s that was funded by middle class IRA and 401K money chasing unprofitable internet schemes. Things were great as long as the money flowed out of your retirement plans and into the internet drain...
You mean the pseudo-boom where welfare was at an all-time low, and our red-lined manufacturing capacity was increasing on a quarterly basis? The one that ended abruptly when the courts had to determine the winner of a tightly contentious election? That one where we hadn't been at war in a decade, and the biggest problem in the White House was a surreptitious BJ? Back when China, India and Indonesia were practically Third World nations? Back when I didn't give a rat's ass what was going on in Iraq because it had absolutely no bearing on my life? That time of tripling my 401K in a year, and 60%-plus presidential approval ratings?
Oh, I remember that. -------->JMS
Yes, that whole ride was paid for with your 401K dollars. Your 401K didn't stay at that level very long, did it? No. Those investments started their decline well before Bush ever won a primary...specifically in March 2000. It took awhile for that awful decline and it spilled over into the next administration and was made worse by 9/11.

While you joyfully handed half your 401K money over to the smart guys on Wall street, all these worthless internet companies spent the other half hiring programmers right out of high school for $50,000. Yep wages were pretty good while your 401K money lasted. These companies spent your money on all sorts of things that made all sectors of the economy boom. Then, in 1999, one by one, they started going belly up. By March 2000, The Naz began its long descent from 5100 to 1200 That's when you started hearing stuff like "My 401K turned into a 101K".

I pulled my 401K from the broker C-Cor had when my job went overseas, and when I did that, I rode the real estate bubble... I lost money on the internet to be sure, but I'm taking a spanking right now... gotta get out of real estate funds and more into Southeast Asia, I guess. I usually don't move around a lot, but I see the land bubble popping.
I get your point, though.-------->JMS

Coupla facts you might not like:

Ken Lay did all his law breaking during the Clinton Admin. The Bush Att. general nailed him and prosecuted him, not Blow Job Billy. Clinton was getting lots of campagne cash from Kenny boy so he looked the other way.

Someting did come of the investigations, Bill lost his liscense to practice law due to lying while giving sworn testimony in a court of law. That has never happened before. Oh-----he was impreached, only the second time that has happened.

China now has the capability to shoot down our satelites in outer space. How much of the technology to do that came from the illegal sale of classified technology Clinton gave the Chicoms for cash?

Lets not put another Democan or Republocrat in office anymore.

Lets look for a Constitutionalist or a Libertarian candidate who will govern by the guidelines set in the Constitution for a change.

Coupla things, UCJ... the illegal rolling blackouts in the western US happened during the Bush Admin. They shut off power to increase demand, and therefore, price. Their costs did not go up, equaling more profit. And if I remember correctly, CBS News broke that, not the AG. As per books cooking, well that's rampant in Big Business. "Big Business" is the group of people who have benefitted from the Bush Administration the most... it's not like they're going to derail the guys who put them in office. In 1967, the average CEO made about 20 times the salary of the average worker. Now many make 400 times that amount. That's fair, right? They work 400 times more hours, right? Anyway, the super-rich rule this country... but not for long.

And let's discuss our nuke tech sales to Iran (Rumsfeld, Cheney) and North Korea (Bush), arming Saddam (Reagan),... and several million manufacturing jobs (Buuuussssshhhh). Our country was sold out so some fat asses could pad their platinum parachutes.

As for Clinton v Bush... the people of America gave Billy approval ratings of 60%. Bush: high 20% range, and I'm being generous. Americans have tired of fighting the wrong war. They've grown disillusioned with a lack of checks and balances. They think we should protect our own borders, not Iraq's. They want bin Laden to pay. They showed in November that they're sick of Rovian tactics, incredibly bad foreign policy, and a complete disconnect from the needs of constituents. They want CHANGE.
I'm going to go out on a limb, and reveal that I will likely vote for McCain, should he get the GOP nom. I'm not a socialist commie baby-killing pervert liberal. I do, however, want the Rove Machine to come to a stop... no, I want the Rove Machine to jump the tracks, careen into the ravine, smash into a million twisted pieces on the rocks below, then explode into a white-hot ball of flame, and a chagrined Karl Rove to be reduced to hawking his tell-all memoirs on QVC. Yeah, that'd be cool.----->JMS

If Slick Willie was so popular, how come he never recieved over 45% of the vote on either of his elections? Ross Perot had more to do with Clinton slinking into the White House than anything else. Perot talked about waste in government and took many voters away from Bush 41, giving Clinton the House with about forty to forty_five% of the vote

Wow, that time machine's been broken out again ... I haven't heard this lame whining about the "Perot factor" in a loooooong time ... please. Did all conservatives live under a rock in the 90s or did they all seriously think that 99¢ gas, low interest rates, "welfare to work" initiatives and peace were just imaginary? (Don't forget to mention the Cole ... oh wait, beat you to it.) Clinton's approval ratings were always high, even during the great witch hunt.

Thanks, Joe, I'm getting all nostalgic. Had the idiot from Texas not run (I'm speaking of Perot, not the current idiot from Texas), Clinton would've received the lion's share of those votes. A vote for Perot was a vote against Bush.

"Read my lips ..."

Perot ran on a reform government ticket. He wanted to cut the size of government as well as reforms he thought were necessary. No democrat would ever vote to reduce the size of government. A government beaurocrat is a god to a Democrat.

Perot took votes from Bush. Not the other way. Clinton's 2 terms were 100% due to Ross Peort running as a third party candidate.

The only reason one should support the Democrat party or candidate is if one has a government job. If you are not working for the government, then the Democrats will hurt you financially if you work and make an income. They want to redistribute your hard earned monet to the people who will vote for them.

Watch this Congress. They are going to try to get the illegals amnesty, give them the vote, and then give them all kinds of welfare and medical care free, and enroll them in unions so they will vote Democrat.

dude, Bill Clinton was not impeached.....
wilkipedia wrote:Bill Clinton was impeached on December 19, 1998 by the House of Representatives on grounds of perjury to a grand jury (by a 228–206 vote) and obstruction of justice (by a 221–212 vote). He was acquitted by the Senate.
