1) What are you talking about? i'm not supporting DJ's. I can't stand DJ's. The only time I ever end up at a place where there is a DJ is if I get dragged there kicking and screaming. I'm not dissing cover bands. I love Hexhed, PLUSH, and Whiskerbisket. They are all awesome cover bands. What I'm talking about is bands that are basically crap. Who don't give a piss about how the sound. And there are a few of those out there. Maybe not on this forum, but they are out there.

2) You have no idea how The Underground actually works. To actually pull of a dance show would cost way more then you think. The Underground TV is paid programming. Fox didn't give us that time slot because they thought we were so awesome. We pay for it and most of the time it's out of our own pockets. Don't get me wrong we love Fox they are SUPER DUPER GREAT! But they charge us to run the show and run commercials for the show. The Show is working in the negatives, meaning we don't make enough money to cover what we have to shell out to keep the show on the air. How long we can go on like that, I don't know. For now we're living on love and not a whole lot of anything else.

So what I am saying is The Underground is here to tell people to give live music a chance. Go be part of the live music scene. It's up to the musicians not to make them regret that they did.
Well that's a horse of a different color. Why didn't ya say so??

I guess I and some others read your posts as if you were defending the earlier idea that DJ's are the equivalent to a live band that plays cover songs.

For further clarification, the issue that KMDA is talking about is rights and clearances. To use copyrighted songs on air, TV shows have to pay fees to the artists and their publishing company for the right to use the song. An example is "CSI", who paid Pete Townsend of The Who for the rights to use "Who Are You?" as their theme song. Most small shows can't afford the fees that artists are asking for, so they use music specifically intended for television, generic type stuff that is free domain.

For example, if Scream was to play a single set (say our standard first set) on The Underground TV, we'd have to pay rights and clearances to the following: Krokus, Ratt, Quiet Riot, Autograph, Skid Row, Warrant, Ozzy, Jackyl, Judas Priest, AC/DC, and KISS. And if you cover more than one song by a single artist, you have to pay for each song. The costs get out of control real quick, so for The Underground, it's better to have all-original bands on the show. Plus, the show is about supporting original bands, so it's all good.
Dood...

What do you think NO SURRENDER? There are worse things to be called than a "prick" or told to "fuck off". Maybe he just meant that you were good at it JOE!

I personally will be limiting my interaction to high-fiving fellow musicians ... but I'm only in a cover band so I guess I'll have to ask permission to high-five those in original bands ...

Don't worry! even though I was intended on going just to have a good time. The two-bit, worthless peon DJ's were "uninvited". We wouldn't want anyone to feel that we were intruding or out of place.. Thanks for the invite Hurricane, but I can't see taking my family into a room full of threats.. Bad daze..Sorry we injoyed ourselves.. it won't happen again!

Not sure what you mean there, but apparently I must once again point out the smily face laughing guy in my previous post that indicates the use of sarcasm.

You know there is such a thing as having himfag apologize. Maybe he needs more education in the school of life than you seem to be giving him.

When he goes around saying whatever he wants to people, sometimes it is not going to be nice.

It is called consequences.

Sorry again, I didn't mean to sound sarcastic.. I said it won't happen again, meaning we won't intrude by going to see and hear anymore live bands.. we were poliety told to "keep to our own".. Just change the first half,, I'm not sorry I enjoyed myself.. That's what it was all about,,, having a good time..

JOE~! you are really trying hard to push my buttons aren't you? Seeing how the threat came from you, maybe the apology should too!.. you are the one that has the problem with people having a difference of opinion or point of view.. Damn straight there is a reation for every action. but no doubt you feel the need to "fluff up" your biceps and make threats. keep it up and your bound to get my full attention and reaction.

get your brat to apologize. he needs to learn how to interact with people. standing up for him now will just condone his behavior, and someday you will not be there to help him. the next guy might not be as nice as me.

What part don't you understand Bad Daze? I don't take kindly to threats! not on me and certainly not my family.. I don't believe that you would accept that either... When it's gets so "profiling" that normal every day people can't even go enjoy a live band because of the people that just want to keep it going, it sucks! Look, I'm not racist.. I hate everybody equally.. which means, people are people and I don't give a good God damn if they are musicians, DJ's, Doctors, or Lawyers. I try to get along with everyone.. That's what makes the world go round'. debate and difference of opinion. It is not a good reason for threats! That's just unacceptable to me.. I'll stand for my family no matter what. and Joe,, dude, you will have to get through me to jump up on himfagg and even attempt to "teach him any kind of life lesson"..

This thread seems to have become a self-fulfilling prophecy - ASSININE! And I'm refering to flame wars, name-calling, and other bulls**t that denizens of this board have been warned about before. Time to lock another thread!
