There are crazy people in this world and just because you have the right to "wear a jersey," that doesn't mean some nut job isn't gonna bump you off for it.

Prejudice is not a good thing, but it's a real thing, and certain actions in certain situations could cost you dearly, especially if you're in the presence of a psycho.

Again, I wasn't there, so I don't know, maybe the teacher was just being an a$$hole.

I've thought for years that schools should do more about bullying and what my daughter and her friends refer to as "the drama". There's one girl I call my "other daughter", who moved to Altoona this past Summer. She said it's not bad because there are a lot more students and everyone sort of blends in. She seems to like it there, any way.



If you read how else the student reacted, "shaking, furious", wasn't it...that's not good at all...some "lesson". The paper throwing was a enough of a lesson that he was different from everyone else. If paper throwing had happened to one of my children by their peers, I would have asked them, "what did you expect was going to happen, wearing that to school"? I actually warned my son to be prepared earlier this school year...for his birthday, he'd been given a t-shirt with last year's Super Bowl Teams on it...but the day he first wore it, he came home with the biggest smile and said everybody thought he was cool, because many of them like the Eagles...that a few kids were following him around and he'd never been so popular! Go figure. I've always taught my kids to be individuals, yes, but there's also something called common sense and as others said, being responsible for your actions when you have a fairly good idea of how others might react. Being that the class is about Ethnicity, I can let the Teacher leading the paper throwing slide and accept his reasoning behind it. HOWEVER, I say the teacher is an asshole and wasn't satisfied until he humiliated him. He should NOT have made him sit on the floor to take the exam, period! If that part had happened to one of my children, whoo boy! I would demand some kind of action be taken against the teacher by the school board, at the very least!!!

BS. The teacher had no business tormenting this kid and inviting the entire class to join in. A good oportunity to teach tolerance and acceptaence of others and there ideas. But, no, bigotry and intolerance was the lesson of the day.

I often talked to, joked with and even had 1 or 2 heated discussions with a couple of my Teachers, but this? Nothing even remotely close. I don't believe he expected the Teacher to behave that way, either. There was no lesson to be learned in making him sit on the floor to take the test...all I feel it was, was that he hadn't broken him down and that was his asshole aim. I wonder how many other students he's totally humiliated for a "lesson", or has it only happened to this student? I'd wager it's only this one. All because of the Steelers? What a DICK!

Sometimes I wonder if you even comprehend the English Language at all. None of us were there in that Classroom, so WTF is your point, other than the one on your head? (Most of THAT was an insult!
