I went out for a little bit today to see what the damage was and a few trees were pushed over and a lot of limbs and stuff. Everything that was flooded cleared up quick.
Ain't that the truth, after doin some Turk, the 'canes all have hog's breath!facingwest wrote:If you don't happen to get booked at Sloppy Joe's, there's another bar that you guys would REALLY fit in at. The Hog's Breath Saloon. I guarantee you could hold your own to the entertainers they have there. Lemme see if I can get a contact for you.
The condo we're in is like a freaking fortress, so no worries there. When the hurricane hit, we were trapped in here without power for 24 hours until the storm passed. Just glad it's over with and no one that I know of here got hurt.esa wrote:I'm going to say it again. Be careful Ski.
Jae and I just got back from N. C. and we had some Katrina influenced storms. (nothing too bad, but the first day of rain and thunder was cool). I heard New Orleans is going to get pounded.
So, if you need to, grab your woman and hunker down somewhere and don't get blown away!

Seriously though, I do have some very dear friends who live there and although they made it out to Alexandria and Dallas I have heard that St. Bernard Parish was hit the hardest and my friends Johnny and Pepper live there. We actually partied on that levee with them back in '93. Her sister Cher and her husband Thom have been restoring a beautiful, old "shotgun" house on Esplanade for the last 3 years and it breaks my heart to think it may be devastated.
This really hurts because I think of New Orleans as a second home. I've been there alot and the people there, next to the folks here, are the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure to jam and party with.
I will keep you updated when I hear more, but please keep my buddies in your prayers!!
