I started with a lefty Warmoth body that had a Fender Power Jazz Special neck on it. I replaced this with a righty Moses Graphite fretless neck with fretboard extension.
Being a lefty body strung righty, the upper fret access was poor. I removed some wood from what is the lower bout to gain about an extra two fret stretch. I also removed some material from the pickguard to make it fit.
I refinished the original transparent orange body because the clearcoat used by the previous owner never fully cured. And since the ash had such nice grain, I wanted to show it off with a Ceruse style finish ala F Bass and Roscoe basses. However, it didn't work like I thought, so I left it at trans black with textured grain.
I added a Kahler fully adjustable fixed bridge and recessed the base plate into the body.
I added Schaller ultralight semi-open tuners.
The bass originally had string thru body w/ ferrules, but the Kahler bridge doesn't allow for this. So the holes are there but not used.
I refinished the bridge, control plate, and jack plate in black.
I relocated the jack using a strat-style jack plate on the back of the body. However, I messed up mounting this and it is mounted upside down, rather than flush.
And in an effort to keep the knobs from turning by my arm, I made wooden domed knobs. They don't work as well as planned. I had plans to add slide potentiometers and a 3-band preamp to replace the rotary pots. I will throw these slide pots in with the bass if you want to add them.
Lastly, I installed a new set of white active EMG J pickups.
It plays excellent and sounds even better. It's a very unique fretless sound. It's currently strung with black Rotosound flats which are not included. It will be strung with roundwounds, which sound awesome. And the fretboard is great for warding off roundwound marks.
I'm asking $500.
