Why you should not put your band name on your vehicle. It's just an invitation for crooks.

No brainer.

Same reason people should not list on face book where they are, what they are doing, when they going on vacation, facebook location check ins, etc.

Look at my Avatar. That's my band vehicle.

No advertisments! I'm even afraid to put a music bumper sticker on the back (but I was thinking about a "pro pot" sticker). The cops will love that!

Pro-sound rule: While it's sometimes helpful to label roadcases that look alike, as to what they contain, don't put the word "MICROPHONES" on the outside of your mic box. Most mics don't have a serial number, are useable by everyone in music (no matter what genre) and are very easy to fence. They'll steal that FIRST.

Well Johnny,

That's all well and good, but I am a bass player, not the brightest bulb on the tree by definition so how am I suppose to know which case has the microphones. Hell I have my rig stenciled BASS AMP so I know which one it is!!!

Unless it's Optimus brand from RadioShack. Somebody stealing that may be a blessing in disguise.

I have noticed a distinct lack of Optimus stickers in the back windows of Dodge Neons you can hear coming 4 blocks away. I never had a Kraco sticker in my window, either. LOL

Dude, when I lived in Md. I bought a 66 Mustang from a guy I worked with. I didn't have it one day and someone ripped apart my glove box just to get the Kraco stereo out of it. If the dipshits would have asked me, I would have given it to them. Kraco stereo: $25. Mustang replacement parts: $250.

I've had soft-top cars in the past and always kept the doors unlocked. The radio was far cheaper than a replacement top.

yeah, I had someone smash a window to take a radio that was ON, not IN my dash (10 cornflakes box-tops to get it), an ashtray full of change and a Trivia Persuit game. $90 window for $8 in junk.
