They are saying the world will end in 2040 now. I Guess a huge asteroid is supposed to hit the earth and cause mass destruction and chaos. Why do I have an image of the movie Armageddon in my head? I wonder if they are going to consult with Bruce Willis in their effort to stop it?

actually...we've been due for a massive asteroid hit, an extinction level event like the one that killed off the dinosaurs, for about 10,000 years now (give or take a couple hundred years) based upon what scientists have theorized about the history of the earth. Not only that, we get buzzed by asteroids and meteors all the time. There was one that came pretty close about a month or two ago. And if that isn't enough to depress you, there's also a supervolcano underneath the united state somewhere ( I think it's in Yellowstone under Old Faithful) that, should it go off, would pretty much destroy most of the life on earth. lol...freaked out yet? No? We're also about due for another giant plague to wipe out most of the human race one of these days. Alright, that's about enough for one day...lmao.

Yeah, we get hit with asteroids all the time. The earths first couple of layers burns them up. They are saying that one the size of a Bus is going hit us in 2040. The last one to hit did take out the dinosaurs. But I don't think it was 10,000 years ago. I think it was sooner than that. lol ..

As for Super Volcano. Yes, Yellowstone is the biggest volcano in the world. Scientist say that the last time it erupted, it literally shook the earth off its axis. And if it erupts again, it could destroy the whole earth.

A plague would be scary. I can see that happening soon.

well actually its around every 160,000 years and its been 170,000 since the last one. What I meant is that we were due for one about 10,000 years ago...sorry.

The 2040 asteriod originally had about a 0.2% chance of hitting us. The latest scoop is that it is not a threat at all with its current trajectory.

Bottom-line: I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

Now Planet X, that's some crazy astronomical shit that will drive you to drink.
