In my case its beans= sleep, sleep, sleep.
That's why I dont eat them.

Anyway, The Rhythm Sharks!!!! Wow! I LOVED you guys! Excellent debut! Keep doing what your doing. Kayla the passion you have is evident in every note you play, and I really loved your vocal tone. Bethany, you have some chops, girl! You get this raspy growl occasionally that I love. You sing the way I wish I could. Im definitely a fan off The Rhythm Sharks :)

So Rockpagers, for the past couple of months, I've started using a safety razor. Let me tell you that I'll never go back to a cartridge razor. The decision really came about due to not wanting to pay out the nose for Mach 3 cartridges anymore. I have rather coarse facial hair that easily dulls even higher-end blades, and I'm an everyday shaver. With M3 cartridges costing about $7 for a two-pack and being able to buy a 100-pack of Astra double-edged blades for $8, it just made perfect economic sense. And the shave from one of these is infinity superior to a multi-blade cartridge. I'd like to eventually try a traditional straight razor, but I haven't worked up the courage for that yet. Anyone else into traditional shaving?

P.s. Oh, and to keep with the 4th grade theme, before anyone asks: No, I haven't tried using a safety razor "down there." I know they're called a "safety" razor, but I don't want to inadvertently become the first non-Jewish mohel.

I haven't used a straight razor yet, but I've been shaving with my grandfathers single-blade, double edge one since I started shaving. (Think of "the Wall) I've tried other high-end schemes but I always go back to the old twist-top. Nothing safe about it, but what a close shave! Cold water helps a lot, too.

When I was in cosmetology school, we practiced using straight razors on balloons with shaving creme on them. Im proud to say that I never ever broke a balloon.

Awesome, what do you do for beard prep, Jason? Personally, I find the cheap shaving soap works really well, but I've used some boutique cream too. I also find that preshave oil can help with the end result.

I've the brush with the shave soap, really just to complete the motiff. Personally I think the performance of the foam-in-a-can can't be beat, as far as burn prevention. I maintain an aloe plant in the bathroom for ultra softness, but if you don't rub it in thoroughly, it leaves a green residue on your face.

Never tried any preshave oil.

I'll play the cowbell. You can never have too much cowbell.

I just bought a pack of disposable Mach III razors at wal*mart for the same reason of not wanting to spend out the nose for cartridges. (Heck, it is cheaper to just buy new razor when your blade goes dull). The disposable are pretty nice, I like them so far.

Could of been written by my 4 year old ...but sadly was written by a grown man lol Is Forrest Gump on rockpage?? They should make a kiddie forum exactly for posts like this....you could post how you love apple juice, peas, chocolates......
"I like beans" is a very common and acceptable thread reply here on Rockpage. As I recall, despite his ignorance, Forrest Gump continued onward and upward. There may very well be a Forrest Gump here on Rockpage, but it is not who you think it is.

On another note, thank you for raising the thread posting level out of grade school and into the realm of Jr. High School.

"I like beans," is a Rockpage meme from a few years ago that's often invoked whenever a thread has become asinine, such as this one right here. I'm sorry that it doesn't appeal to everybody's educated and highbrow Internet forum sensibilities.

Unfortunately, though, a few years ago, Rockpage got into a rather academic discussion about social systems theory, and the board was split right down the middle between Weber's interpretation of theological institutions and their influence on societal evolution and Luhmann's thinking on social autopoietic systems and transfer of knowledge through communication. There were even a few advocates of Giddens' structuration theory in the mix, such as myself. Songsmith was the lone post-structuralist in the mix, dropping Focault and Derrida quotes left and right. If I recall correctly, the discussion really centered on a contention between anti-positivist and post-positivist ontology when applied to macro-level social science epistemological empiricism. It got quite bloody. People were slamming each other's bands, threatening to show up at gigs and beat the shit out of each other, just because they thought that OLS regression was the best statistical tool for assessing longterm social trends. JP had to keep dropping the ban hammer. I remember that like seven people got banned from Rockpage in one week. Finally, Stumblefingers (he was known as "Jimi Hatt" back then) had to solicit the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Sevices to come in and calm us all down and open some lines of dialogue.

Thankfully, we've pretty much recovered from that incident, but you do sometimes still see the scars. Now, to avoid ever such a thing, we primarily talk about our love of beans and the best way to shave. 8)

There you go, Fiery. It's not that we're stupid, it's that we've been here awhile. As for the Vanna comment, it really must have steamed your veggies. i seldom backtrack in the silly threads like this one, but I seem to remember it being aimed at someone other than yourself. You appear to be bummed that I don't share your disdain for kBand. Tough boogies, I know and play music with those guys, and they're as musically talented as ANYONE locally. There are EXCELLENT songwriters and players in that band. If you don't know that, then see Vanna and get some knowledge. Their longtime original project (wildly eclectic, horn-driven, pretty much all music-majors in college, worst name ever) is the best band you never heard.
Jasaoke, you should post some Youtube links. Fiery, you know who I am, who are you?
