I have thought long and hard about this, and deliberated locking this thread for a long time. But I always hoped that cooler heads might prevail, that issues might be again intelligently discussed, and that some sense of civility might return to the discussion of politics on this website, since it has been established that politics are often tied to music.
But just like the DC scene itself, such hasn't happened. We have 165 pages of political bickering, namecalling, insults, innuendo, threats of violence, wasted bandwidth and bottom line ROCKPAGE BUZZKILL, and guess what? NOT A DAMNED THING SOLVED OR RESOLVED! Just enemies made, and visitors scared away from using this site for its intended purpose, MUSIC.
I thought I might let this thread open until Ron completed his upgrades to Rockpage, after which we would all then have the option to click an "ignore" button and send this thread to oblivion in our own private cyber worlds where it belongs. But I do not know how much longer the upgrade will take to implement, and when some of the political posters themselves are messaging me to put this thread out of its misery, I guess the time has arrived to do so.
I'm sure somebody will soon start another political thread. But for the moment, enjoy the five minutes of Rockpage peace and tranquility while it lasts...
