Good for you. Rockpage does seem to be a bit more evolved in that aspect. Maybe because so many great musicians are/were gay.
How does it feel to go down with that ship, though? I think we both understand that social conservatives are on the wrong side of history on the issue of rights for certain groups (gays, women, other religions, ethnic and racial groups, workers, etc.) LBJ coming out in favor of blacks led to the Civil Rights Act and was a watershed moment in civil rights history. I truly believe the generation after me is less bigoted, ask your kids. There will always be giggles and such about gay people (hell, there are lots of giggles about men vs. women), but they just feel differently than us, or our parents.

As I have explained, I am not really a conservative, I am a libertarian.

That means whatever it takes to get as close to zero government intrusion as possible. From a government fiscal point of view, it seems conservative. From a personal freedom (social of a sort) point of view, it seems liberal.

First Obama is for gay marriage, then he is against gay marriage, then he is for it again. Since he is a liberal he is "Evolving", but if he was a republican, he would be flip-flopping. Explain that one.

I am not for it, I won't support it. I am voting morally and according to Obama's record (His failed record). Since he is for gay marriage and I am a social conservative (And he is a failure), I will not and can not support him.

All this stuff is is nothing but a distraction to try and get people to look away from his record. This election is not fully about what he thinks of gay marriage, or abortion. If you think I am exaggerating the significance of this Obama penchant for self-aggrandizement, consider how different the course of the 1960s would have been if John F. Kennedy had launched his presidency with this theme in his inaugural address: “Ask not what your country can do for you, and ask not what you can do for your country. Ask what you can do for me!”

Many of those in attendance when the now-famous picture was taken in the War Room, now admit they were apprehensive, to say the least. They either did not believe Bin Laden was there, or that the SEAL team would be successful. He was, and it was. Conservative hero George W. Bush had the chance to take out Bin Laden at Tora Bora.
