I am tied with conservative on the Traditional subscale, but just under conservative, I would classify that as an independent, on the progressive subscale. I guess, since I believe in the death penalty, I would fall into that category.
The only thing I don't like it about the survey was that it is too vague.
THE POLITICAL ARENA!!! Political Gladiators Inside!!
The progressive tax is named by the fact that as your income level progresses, so does the percentage you pay. It's based on the concept of diminishing marginal utility... the fact that you need a certain amount of money to survive in a market economy, and monies above that survival level are less necessary, and therefore more taxable. You have one car, you drive one car... you have a hundred cars, you can still only drive one at a time. It worked extraordinarily well, until lower top rates allowed the fatcats to hoard money, or easily risk it. The periods of most rapid and longest sustained growth in America all had much higher taxes on the rich.lonewolf wrote: The multi-bracket tax format is named after the people who defined it: progressive.
Any other comments about my position on taxes are just plain lies.
I guess Merriam-Webster must be a fucktard with a single-digit IQ. Since there are varying degrees of freedom, I can only comment on what's left, not attempt to define it.
As for Merriam-Webster defining freedom, they may attempt to define the word, but we all know, conservatives think they define the concept, and you are a modern conservative by your own admission. Anyone even attempting to disallow your authority gets called things like "fucktard."
I define my freedom, and freedom is my ability to ignore your authority, and dismiss your definitions.
Freedom is good.

So exactly what is it I envy, joe? Do you think I'm jealous of the upper-crust's ability to exploit the little guy? Do you think I envy them getting to put on a monkey suit and push workers around? Maybe you think I'm jealous of them getting special treatment that others don't get?undercoverjoe wrote: [The High Priest of Class Envy!!! Don't make a blanket statement about "class envy" like your handlers want you to, come right out and tell me what it is you think they have that I want?
I think I'll make a blanket statement, too:
You are envious of Adolph Hitler, Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein, Moammar Gaddafi, and Kim Jong Il. You envy their raw power over others, and always assume you have that power, too.
And yes, dum-dum, I most certainly and readily believe that people who make more should pay more. Write it the eff down, and repeat it to yourself over and over, so you can understand and believe it. People who make more have exploited the American market, and should pay more for that privilege.

Incorrect. Anybody who tries to justify 102% income taxation is a fucktard. Specifically, a fucktard with a double digit IQ. There. Now that we have that crystal clear, we can move on.songsmith wrote:Anyone even attempting to disallow your authority gets called things like "fucktard."

I am flattered that you define your freedom by your ability to ignore my authority. That is a rather narrow definition of freedom and I wasn't aware that I had any authority beyond these walls, but thank you anyway.
All this time, I thought your freedom--and your progressive tax bracket--was defined by your wife.

There is a Ron Paul Rally and Delegate Signing event this Saturday Feb 11th from 10 AM to 2 PM At 3415 Pleasant Valley Boulevard store location is: Everything Natural Under The Sun come out and show your support and sign the petition to elect Ron Paul Delegates to Represent Pennsylvania at the national Convention! To sign you must be a registered Republican, if your not you are still welcome to show up!
I personally want Ron Paul to leave the Republican party after the primaries are over and run as an independent or on the Libertarian ticket. He could end the strangle hold the Republicans and Democrats have had on this country for over 100 years.

Got any more bald-faced lies to tell?songsmith wrote: As for Merriam-Webster defining freedom, they may attempt to define the word, but we all know, conservatives think they define the concept, and you are a modern conservative by your own admission.
...Oh, the freedom of the day that yielded to no rule or time...
I was born in one country, raised in another.
My father was born in another country.
I was not his only child.
He fathered several children with numerous women.
I became very close to my mother, as my father showed no interest in me.
My mother died at an early age from cancer.
Although my father deserted me and my mother raised me, I later wrote a book idolizing my father not my mother.
Later in life, questions arose over my real name..
My birth records were sketchy.
No one was able to produce a legitimate, reliable birth certificate.
I grew up practicing one faith but converted to Christianity, as it was widely accepted in my new country, but I practiced non-traditional beliefs and didn't follow Christianity, except in the public eye under scrutiny.
I worked and lived among lower-class people as a young adult, disguising myself as someone who really cared about them.
That was before I decided it was time to get serious about my life and embarked on a new career.
I wrote a book about my struggles growing up.
It was clear to those who read my memoirs, that I had difficulties accepting that my father abandoned me as a child.
I became active in local politics in my 30's then, with help behind the scenes, I literally burst onto the scene as a candidate for national office in my 40s.
They said I had a golden tongue and could talk anyone into anything.
I had a virtually non-existent resume, little work history, and no experience in leading a single organization.
Yet I was a powerful speaker and citizens were drawn to me, as though I were a magnet and they were small roofing tacks.
I drew incredibly large crowds during my public appearances.
This bolstered my ego.
At first, my political campaign focused on my country's foreign policy...
I was very critical of my country in the last war, and seized every opportunity to bash my country.
But what launched my rise to national prominence were my views on the country's economy.
I pretended to have a really good plan on how we could do better, and every poor person would be fed and housed for free.
I knew which group was responsible for getting us into this mess.
It was the free market, banks and corporations.
I decided to start making citizens hate them and, if they became envious of others who did well, the plan was clinched tight.
I called mine "A People's Campaign". That sounded good to all people.
I was the surprise candidate because I emerged from outside the traditional path of politics and was able to gain widespread popular support.
I knew that, if I merely offered the people 'hope', together we could change our country and the world.
So, I started to make my speeches sound like they were on behalf of the downtrodden, poor, ignorant and included "persecuted minorities".
My true views were not widely known and I kept them unknown, until after I became my nation's leader.
I had to carefully guard reality, as anybody could have easily found out what I really believed, if they had simply read my writings and examined those people I associated with. I'm glad they didn't.
Then I became the most powerful man in the world.
And then the world learned the truth. At a great price.

"Incorrect." Incorrect? By saying "incorrect," you validate my assertion that you feel you make the definitions. If you said almost anything else, it wouldn't show your "authority" on the subject. This fucktard with a double-digit IQ just hoisted you on your own petard.
As for insinuating that my wife is responsible for my tax bracket, making it personal, I'll leave you with these points:
A) I work a day job, and have several other income streams. I have some investments as well, I just don't pretend to be a 1%-er. How's your day job?
B) My idea of freedom is taking you to the woodshed on a daily basis. I just did it again, and all you have left is a personal dig, one that I myself readily admit... my wife makes more money than me. Get over it, she's brighter than you, more ambitious than you, and less bitter and self-absorbed than you. I'm proud of her! How's your marriage?
C) Personal beefs probably wouldn't be a good idea, I might not play nice.

FOCUS, JOE. Answer the question: What is it that the elite class has, does, or thinks that I am envious of?
Seems like it should be a simple answer, and YOU swore I am jealous of the rich. YOU need to make clear what you're saying. If you can't, GO AWAY.

I was simply correcting your malfunction on what I said. Like an extremist talk show host, you "textbite" people's statements out of context on a daily basis, and this one needed correction. This is despite the fact that everybody can plainly see that you are either lying or you have a major problem with reading comprehension skills. Its wonderful. I sit here and make you look like a fool, play video games and occasionally make a securities trade. I am still waiting for my 1099, but preliminaries show almost 1/2 mil gross. Don't worry, I'm sure that I'll manage to get that pounded down into the 10-15% tax bracket.
Maybe next year I can make Obama's hit list...Oh! Wait! Obama won't be there next year!
Income streams...investments. Uh-huh. Right. Who's your broker?
Johnny is getting deluded again. The only thing that you do on a daily basis is make things up and expect us to believe it. I'm proud to say that as a matter of choice, I never married. Something to do with freedom, I guess. You see, unlike you, I am beholden to nothing and nobody. It has its drawbacks, but I live a life just about as close to real, pure freedom as you can get. Don't knock freedom until you have tried it.

I never used the term modern conservative. I have used the term neocon. Neocons are big-government types. Good luck trying to convince anybody that I am a big-government type.

Then quote the part of the conversation you're referring to, smartguy. It needs no correction. You are a Bush-voter. A conservative to the very core, you spout fiscal conservatism on a daily basis, you're a long-time Reagan-worshipper, and you have never shown even the slightest liberal slant on any issue. That's a conservative, Skippy. I understand it's a popular divert, to disremember the Bush support, to claim to be anything but Republican (read as "conservative"), and you're obviously no exception. Nobody ever admits to being a Bush voter, but he got elected twice. I define you as a far-right chest-thumping class warrior talkshow conservative. How's that feel for ya? Sad, I bet.lonewolf wrote:I was simply correcting your malfunction on what I said. Actually a half-million gross does make someone a 1%er, $335,000 does, but I personally think you're full of shit. That's right, I think you're fudging.lonewolf wrote: Its wonderful. Incidentally, even if you make that, it only makes you look bad. Sitting around on your ass getting paid for nothing puts you in a different place than people on this forum who work for a living. It takes away your credibility as a worker and a team-player. It makes you a 1%-er. Maybe the part of you that thinks you deserve money for nothing is the same part that makes you think you deserve more onstage respect. Sad.

Thanks for also clarifying that I am a 1%er. I really didn't think I was. I will wear it as a badge of honor because I left my parents at 19 in a '75 Ford Granada with two suitcases, an Ibanez Les Paul, a Marshall 100W head and $100 cash and never looked back.
I must not have been very bright or ambitious.
I am done with this pettiness. Get back on thread and tell me why all your statist/populist dogma would improve our lives.
Yes, I did fudge a number...on how many gigs I would have to do to equal sitting here doing whatever I like. As it turns out, I was low. Add 11 to that number...TD Ameritrade always seems to find something that I left out:
