Obama, who was handed an economy near depression, plus the loss of all of the jobs that left for China under Bush, and is still dealing with the results of the housing bubble that burst, added 14.2 million people to food stamps.

Why weren't you guys screaming that Bush was the food stamp president ? BECAUSE NOBODY TOLD YOU TOO. Sad but true...
The food stamp program is a voluntary program. Bush and Obama didn't put them on food stamps, the people themselves signed up for it.

Anything with the Catholic church just pisses me off. This is the same church that kicked us out of our parish when I was 17 because quote; "we wern't giving them money" unquote.

Gotta love Our Lady Of Lourdes.

1993 When the budget passed under President Clinton, not a single Republican voted for it INCLUDING Newt ! And now he claims credit ? Sounds like a character problem to me...

Oh and for the record, Johnny, Newt is leading in the polls in the great state of Florida. I can't wait to see if him and Obama debate. Newt would rip him apart.
There it is, the right wing anger, as created by fox and friends, who just want to see a fight. Frank never said Newt would make a good president, he, like the rest of the righties, just want to see a fight.

As I said before, the great white hope - Schmeling vs. Joe Lewis.

We'll see if anger or cool heads prevail with the Republicans.

And I still don't get it. Perhaps Frank can enlighten me. When Clinton was having sex with Monica the conservatives SCREAMED that character counts. The left were saying that the sex he had has nothing to do with how he governs. Now the right isn't worried about character ?

This is NOT the pot and kettle because the left wasn't screaming about a character flaw, the right was.
One: I am not sure if I am even voting for newt. I don't know if I trust him or not.

Two: Clinton got into trouble because he lied under oath. I don't care if he had an affair. If he had been honest about it from the beginning, he would never have had impeachment hearings. I said it before, and I will say it again; I liked Clinton.

I am still undecided, I'm not sure how anyone will be as president. I do know it will take decades to get us out of this mess we are in.

Good post !

Clinton was sort of tricked into his lie. Monica told a friend about Clinton and that person told Newt. They then secretly taped Clinton. Clinton went before the grand jury to answer questions about (I forget, some other trumped up charge) and was caught off guard when suddenly ask if he was having sex with an intern. Any married man's knee jerk reaction, being caught off guard like that would say no.

While the lie was the reason for impeachment, the right wing focused on the character of a married man cheating.

I'm not defending his lie. I didn't like that either. But understanding the circumstance makes it understandable.

Saw Anne Coulter on O'Reilly last night ripping Newt apart. (I was flipping channels, I don't normally watch Bill O.)

Is the right really divided or is this their strategy to put him and Mitt on the same ticked, as though the right (the angry right and the cool headed right) can be united ? Yeah, that's the ticket...

Both Ann Coulter and Chris Christy ripped Newt apart this weekend. They are both focusing on the ethics violations he had. And they both support Romney.

Bill, if it didn't happen that way according to Fox News, it didn't happen that way.
Did you notice that the head of the Historical Rewriter's Union is the one alleging a historical rewrite? The guy who thinks conservatives never voted George Bush into office twice, and that he himself never supported anything Bush did.

I would rather be water boarded than listen to the Kenyan lie.

LOL, just thinking that stumpy and Bill will actually believe everything he says tonight.

That's how I remember it, I was waiting for Joe's rewrite but he just stopped (no surprise) at condemnation rather than enlightening me.

Perhaps we should do like lonewolf (unwittingly) admitted they do, PM each other and coordinate posts. Naaa ! We don't need to do crap like that...

What gets them is that we can think for ourselves rather than follow pre-packaged rhetorical scripts.

Yeah, ha ha, you know all those people personally ? Bullshit. Not friends but a list of right wing people who like to spread lies.

I'm your friend, forward them to me...

EDIT: BTW I was dropped off the list because I debunked the lies, well before I had it out with the guy who challenged me to come to his house and "fight" him, which is the only reason I quit the band.

Obama just ask for huge tax cuts for business that hire in the US, bigger tax cuts if they move from other countries back to the US and offers to pay for restructuring and education of labor PLUS the huge tax cuts if they move to a city / area hit hard by the recession.

How will they pay for it, by stopping tax breaks to the companies that leave the US to hire in places like China.

WHY WON'T CANTOR APPLAUDE THAT ?

No doubt that the State of the Union address is a campaign message, but the challenges he set forth for congress will improve the economy if they take up the challenge rather than drop the ball.

All i heard was a big government proponent telling the same old bullshit story about how bigger government can improve things.

I also heard him say that he wants to immediately gut Social Security by cutting contributions in the form of "payroll tax" cuts.

I don't like Social Security much, but as long as its here, I don't like populists robbing our senior citizens to garner votes from working class citizens. It it reprehensible. If you insist on having Social Security, its just the price you have to pay for it.

Personal attacks without substance. Can't you guys move beyond that ? If you lack the ability to discuss specifics and can only throw insults, why post at all ? Oh yeah...that IS all you can do.

The president listed multiple ideas for legislation last night. Try being specific.

Come on, huge tax cuts for American businesses that he has wanted since day one and The Republicans won't give it to him because it will raise taxes on American companies who move to China. How is that making government bigger ?

Payroll tax cuts ? everyone knows social security money has gone into a strainer for decades. Social Security is just another tax because it does not go into an account and stay there.
