I should have specified, musicians you've heard play, either recorded or live, and created a separate category for composers / musicians who you haven't heard play, but know their works. Does that make sense ?

Like:

Composers:

Bach
Beethoven
Mozart
Papa Hyden

Musicians:

Gene Krupa
Chuck Berry
John Lennon
Paul Mcartney

Oh well I still like everyone's "Mounts" !

Today's pop composers/musicians are comparable to the pre-classic era minstrels before 1600. Maybe some exposed rocks in Cleveland, near the RRHOF would be more appropriate.

Or just graffiti their faces on some derelict old buildings in Cleveland.

Ah. That changes things a bit. In that case...

Modern musicians I've actually heard:
John Petrucci
Eric Clapton
Mikael Åkerfeldt
Geddy Lifepeart (Facial composite of Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart)

Musicians who are no longer above ground:
Ludwig van Beethoven
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Frederic Chopin
Johann Sebastian Bach, Sr.

okay...new lists then.

Dead and old: Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, and J.S. Bach Sr.
Dead and contemporary: Hendrix, Dio, Lennon, Jim Morrison
Alive: John Petrucci, Eric Clapton, Devin Townsend, Geddy Lee

Other options include: Mount "Rush"-more (Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neal Peart), Mount "Zep"-more (Led Zeppelin), Mount Rush-"Theater" (Dream Theater) and Mount Rush-"Beatles" (you can guess what goes here)
