Most shareholders who vote, do so by proxy. The proxy ballots are sent out thru the mail or are distributed thru their broker. The 1st and default voting line item is the description of the board's recommendations. This is kind of like voting a straight party ticket. Then comes the individual items and then the write in. Of course, you only get to vote for whomever is on the ballot (see line item 1). Kind of like the old Soviet Union.
If the proxy ballot is not sent in, your votes go to the board's recommendations.

...Oh, the freedom of the day that yielded to no rule or time...
Example of the Emails I used to get from Joe's "list". After I explained that Obama's grand father was like a father to him and in fact he did join the military like Obama said, I got chewed out from several people on the list.
Please read and watch .............
Obama's father served in WW II. Really?
Of all the things I've seen or heard about Obama on the internet, NONE has hit me like this!! How can we not believe some of the charges about citizenship, religion, etc., after hearing what he says on this?
Obama said his father served in WW II. Barack's father served in WW II? He said so in a speech.. Here is an 18 second video: CNN News clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=Fv4jnlkxOaw
Is he a compulsive liar? Were there no reporters who checked or double checked these statements and called the party on this? They did for everyone else. Why not him?
Here are the facts:
Barack Hussein Obama Sr. (Obama's father) Born: 4/4/36 and Died: 11/24/82 at
the age of 46. He was 5 years old when WW II started, and less than 9 1/2
yrs old when it ended.
Lolo Soetoro (Obama's step father) Born: January 2, 1935 and Died: 3/2/87 at the age of 52. He was 6 years old when WW II started, and 10 years old when it ended. He must have been the youngest Veteran in the war.
Watch the video....It's right out of his mouth!
And the media doesn't say anything. If you doubt it, Google both of these guys.
It appears our President doesn't know how to tell the truth -- or he doesn't care about telling the truth! -- or perhaps he doesn't know when he isn't telling the truth (which is also a very scary angle). Talk about stolen honor!
Had this been Bush, the Media would still be on this!
The CNN clip of Obama is surprising. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that this lie wasn’t uncovered, questioned or debated before the Nov. 2008 election.
Oh well, He must have just "forgotten" the facts, again. Or perhaps he really doesn't even know the difference between truth and fabrication?
Just remember, 2012 is next year!

This is the reply I got when I used the "list" to send them a story from a right wing insider.
Bill,
NEVER - NEVER - NEVER send political stuff to MY mailing list. Talk about a lack of manners. I've promised you that I would not talk to you about political issues - so that I don't hurt your feelings - then you pull this shit. Grow the hell up. No one really cares about how you feel about political issures or specific politicians.
Most of my mailing list thinks you are a real nut case! I'm tired of explaining to them that you really are a nice guy but you have an odd concept of politics. Now I have to email them all with an apology. DON'T DO IT AGAIN. Keep your political views to yourself. Get a fuckin' hobby!

Nice people huh ?
BTW this response was not from Joe and I hold no grudge against the guy who sent it to me.

You should have asked the person who sent this to you in private before you posted it. He should kick your ass for doing this. As those in the list think you are a nut, maybe the list owner might let you off easy, but I hope he kicks you ass.
You should try thinking once in a while.
EDIT: And you lied again. It is not my list, it is the list of the person who replied to it. How does anyone stand being around you?

Given that no one knows who it is makes a difference. Given that is was to me and about me, I own it. There was no rule that I saw that said Emails can't be sent to the list. I would assume they are regularly forwarded and sent to each other. I saw no rule that said someone OWNED the list. I saw no rule that said, "Only right wing rhetoric allowed". If I was ON the list why couldn't use it ?
Is this Email campaign a secret Joe ? Did I pass along inside information that hurts your appearance of false insightfulness ?
Do you get it yet ?Hawk wrote:Damn you're dense. I've been saying over and over. Libertarians would allow race discrimination in the private sector. That's an undeniable fact. It is because they believe property rights trump civil rights.undercoverjoe wrote:And.....
Does that make him a racist? He said the Civil Rights Law was not a good law the way it was written, and at other times said it probably should have gone through the Amendment process. Is someone not allowed to have that opinion?
Did you vote for Al Gore? His father as a Senator voted against the Civil Rights Bill. Most southern Democrats voted against it. Makes you feel proud to be a democrat, huh?
Do you have something against property rights? You seem quick to label someone a racist if they like property rights.
Where is your spine? You rail against libertarian ideals, yet play with someone who has those type of political beliefs.
Are you really libertarian and just pretend you are an asshole liberal on RP?
I think that is a major flaw in Libertarianism. I've repeatedly ask you if you thought it was a flaw. You don't.
It is YOU that drew the conclusion that I called them racists. Is that clear yet ? DO YOU GET IT ?
The only racists attachments I made to Ron Paul is the white supremacist group that contributed to his campaign and the recent post from his news letters. DO YOU GET IT YET ?

C'mon dude, you can't handle anyone who thinks even an iota differently than you do. Does anyone even doubt that you'd quit kissing Jason F.'s and Scott B.'s asses as much as you do if they didn't claim the libertarian label? That's not a slam against Jason or Scott, because they're good players and cool cats - but seriously... If Johnny were a libertarian, Mama Corn would be the greatest band to walk the face of the Earth and you'd be living your musical dream vicariously through Johnny like you do with the other musicians who have similar political views.

(Do I get a gold star too for using words that the common folk can understand?)
I disagree. Anyone who runs their cyber-mouth as much as Joe does on an Internet forum and doesn't have the balls to say it in person is lame.Hawk wrote:I love Joe like a good friend. So the pencil necked geek wants political confrontations in bars at music shows. I could have started one with you last Sunday, but I didn't want to see you piss your pants in public.bassist_25 wrote:Okay, you got me there Joey. I use the big words. I'll keep it simple for ya.undercoverjoe wrote:

I don't think either Joe or I would mind a political discussion face to face. We might enjoy it. But at a gig isn't the place for it.bassist_25 wrote:

There's nothing wrong with a face to face political discussion, even at a gig. My point was all of the personal insults that Joe lobs at people in cyber-land wouldn't fly in the real world.Hawk wrote:I don't think either Joe or I would mind a political discussion face to face. Poor, poor joe. The last line of defense against the 99% opposing extremism, and he's crazy as an outhouse rat. What a day you're having, joey... your playground analogy is quite succinct... the bully is getting his ass-whipping. I hope you're enjoying your come-uppance as much as I am. Now, how long will it take before you realize you're going to get this at every visit to this playground, and how long until you go find another playground?
Of course, the libertarian playground doesn't want to be associated with people who employ your tactics, because whackitude is quickly becoming the face of Libertarianism, and they don't want that image. Ron Paul is struggling with his past right now, Bachmann can't overcome the things she's said, same with Perry, Cain destroyed his chances with some faulty, oversimplified flat-tax arithmetic, and Google "santorum." Even Pat Robertson, who claims natural disasters are due to God's dissatisfaction with liberal views, is begging the conservative field to dial it back, or lose in 2012. Not joey.
Double down joe, double down.

I just think the political name-calling is sad. And yes, while I don't have statistics in front of me, anecdotally, I know a lot of the musos I personally know have left RP for much of this reason.

Are you seriously trying to compare johnny (self admitted weakest member of any band he's ever been in) and those you mentioned musically???????bassist_25 wrote: Does anyone even doubt that you'd quit kissing Jason F.'s and Scott B.'s asses as much as you do if they didn't claim the libertarian label? I used to give you some props for knowing a bit about music, but you just totally imploded. There is nothing redeeming about you whatsoever. Why are you stealing other people's oxygen?
BTW, neither one of those is really a libertarian. One is more of a conservative and the other has moved way beyond libertarianism, beyond AnCap really, but that is for him to discuss if he wishes.
How many ways can one idiot be wrong in a few sentences?

[quote="songsmith" Ron Paul is struggling with his past right now, [/quote]
Ron Paul is winning straw polls weekly, is solidly in 3rd place in most of the major polls and is a strong 3rd in fundraising, with the most grass roots donations (more donators and donating smaller sums, not fat cat donators like Obama and Romney). I could not care less about any other R running now, I want them all to lose. Why do you pay attention to them? Rush tell you to?
Ron Paul also get more fundraising for active US service members, even more than the Big o.
Where is this fantasy struggle? Bill's posts??????Ha Ha ha.

I'm sure your / our friend, when he made this negative comment (about a third party), said, "Joe, go tell this to anyone you want to."
I on the other hand repeated verbatim something said about, not a third party, but to me and about me. You took what you heard and spread it like a gossipping hen.
