I heard Hanks comment. He refered to the golf game with Obama and Boehner "like" Hitler and Netanyahu. It's obvious that he wasn't comparing Obama to Netanyahu. So semantically he didn't call Obama Hitler, it's obvious he was comparing him to Hitler.f.sciarrillo wrote:The Dixie Chicks also knew what they were saying and meant it the way people interpreted it. No one took what Hank jr. was saying the way he said it, or meant it.
You are correct about the Dixie Chicks.
Hank said what he meant and he meant to compare Obama to Hitler and Boehner to Netanyahu. You're naive to think otherwise.
I think you're being naive if you think Hank wasn't directly comparing Obama to Hitler. Not just a "comparison to enemies" as in his followup indicates, Obama IS the enemy and again he wasn't comparing Obama to netanyahu.RobTheDrummer wrote:
You are missing the point, he DIDN'T CALL OBAMA HITLER! He made a comparison to enemies playing golf together.
How can you say out of context ? Everyone heard the complete statement and what he followed it up with.RobTheDrummer wrote:

They didn't get fired, just severely punished.songsmith wrote:Wrong. The Dixie Chicks were featured on every radio talkshow, Hannity devoted nearly a week to character assassination alone, Fox News was all over it, and the biggest selling female group in country history went from back-to-back-to-back number one singles to zero airplay.
