I lost my job in July. Yes, I am collecting unemployment. I also have been looking for a job EVERY DAMN DAY that I have been on unemployment.
That does not make me a bumb, leach, or whatever other names have been used!!!
I have been selling off some of my sports memorabilia that I collected as a child for some extra mone. I even got a price on my keyboard and piano, something I never wanted to do (haven't decided to sell them yet, but it is a possibility). Things that I wanted to give to my kids when they have grown up, I can no longer.

Social Security/Medicaid and Medicare will all end on their own. The numbers predict it. The unfunded liability for SS alone is $60 TRILLION in the next 20 years as the Baby Boomers retire. The kids being born today will not pay 80% tax rates to keep those entitlements going for their elders, especially when they know they will get nothing.
I am actually surprised that 20 and 30 yr old people do not rebel against this Ponzi Scheme now. They are going to get nothing and are paying into it every paycheck. And they have to pay for all the people like johnny spongesmith, who does not pay fed income taxes and gets gummint welfare in the form of a refund check.
The FED can only keep printing fake money for so long.
Socialists governments are failing in Europe, and soon here.

I just LOVE this! One of us has a couple jobs, and one of us doesn't work at all. One of us gets one government check a year, from money he paid in, and one of us gets a government check every two weeks, thanks to extensions President Barack Hussein Obama fought for. He even pretends he's never cashed a tax refund check, himself!

Big Oil doesn't have to take down green energy...it can do that all by itself.
Those subsidies are called tax credits. They need to take all of the existing tax code, throw it into an incinerator and make a completely neutral tax law that will fit on no more than 3 pages. No more tax tiers, no more loopholes, no more subsidies, no more tax credits for exploration, no more mortgage interest deductions, no more earned income credit. Just a flat rate and a uniform standard deduction for everybody that creates a progressive tax rate.
No more federal government trying to decide what's good for us. They aren't even remotely qualified.

I didn't start this fire. Joey has a need for scorched earth when it comes to an argument, but he needs to make sure his ass is fireproof, first. His tactics always include a personal attack, so I don't want to hear a bunch of bullshit about taking that direction.
He's flat LYING about my tax income status, and I really don't care about what he thinks, except that includes my my wife, which is off-limits. He's already tried to sabotage one decades-long working friendship with one of the moderators, which is also a good way to get my serious attention.
On the other hand, I am NOT LYING about his non-working status, which he ignores when making his judgements about everything and everything, judgements we all "must" abide by, or no further conversation is allowed. It is pertinent to discussions about entitlements that one's opinion may be jaded when one is actually receiving said entitlement. Physician, Heal Thyself.
