That's a red herring. The extension of the "Bush tax cuts for the rich" amount to $81.5 billion over two years, or about $41 billion per year (rounded UP). That assumes incomes over $250,000 per year and a zero-sum income activity. It becomes a lot less if you move that to $1M and you allow for diminished income activity. Thats a far, far, far cry from the $1.28 trillion projected budget deficit for 2012.
