There is a great movie about the Funk Brothers.Hawk wrote:THE FUNK BROTHERS !
They had more hits than Elvis and The Beatles combined !
They were Detroit Jazz musicians who played on every song that came out of Motown.
They were a heavy influence on bands of the era including The Beatles.

"By the end of their phenomenal run, this unheralded group of musicians had played on more number ones hits than the Beach Boys, the Rolling Stones, Elvis and the Beatles combined - which makes them the greatest hit machine in the history of popular music."

Glad All Over---great song! The Dave Clark Five had a lot of good tunes. I was listening to one of those compilation CD sets on the way to work this morning, (Flower Power or something like that) and one of the songs was Sly and The Family Stone's "I Want To Take You Higher"! Needles to say, I was blasting THAT one out and apologize to any one I may have woke up ---heh,heh! Those guys were awesome too!!! Any other Sly Stone fans out there?
Deep Purple doing their cover hit of "Hush" live on Playboy After Dark with a young Hugh Hefner as the show's host.

Joey Covington started in 1970 with Jefferson Starship
I remember playing in Johnstown at the time and it was a big topic among the musicians
