jet

Post by Matt_22 »

How bad did the Steelers really play? The Jets scored 3 points with thier offensive attack. Bettis had over 100 yds. Duece had one hell of a game. Big Ben was over 50% with his passes(which is good). In my opinion the Jets got damn lucky with a punt return. Then they even got more luck with a poorly placed pass. Take away these two big plays and the finish score is 17-3. Also, if you still think the jets earned thier game, Bettis fumbled(1st fumble in over 350 carries). IF the bus doesn't fumble then there are at least 3 if not 7 more points on the game. In my opinoin the Jets were given a gift to have a game that close because they did not earn it. IF the jets were the better team they would have scored on thier first possesion in OT. Hey, the steelers shut em down, jammed it down thier throat and won the game. Take it for what it is!!!!!!!!!!

See my friends and I get into the Bus arguement all the time. I personally think, Bettis could do better, if he weaved, and didn't go straight through people, however, everyone says, he's not that kind of player, blah blah blah.

Anyway, it was a good game to watch.

Hopefully, the game against the Jets served as a reminder to the Steelers that they are not invincible. I hope that game was the wake up call that they needed to get their asses back in gear.

Yeah .. you know what is funny ?? Their are fans screaming for maddox to start this weekend. Just because Big Ben had one bad game, even though he through for over 60%. I can tell you one thing: Maddox starts we will lose. He is a "OK" qb, heck he is the comeback kid, but he is not as manuverable as Ben is.

I'm going to have to the beer and tylenol ready for this weekend because it's going to be one huge game ... GO STEELERS !!!

Maddox, like you said, is an alright QB - but I just don't like him. Never did. In fact, the only quarter back I have liked in years has been Big Ben. I got really into football when O'Donnell (sp?) was quarterback. I never liked him, or anyone that came after him. It isn't because Ben has taken us this far either, that I like him. I like him because the kid can play!

3 yrs of QBing and 1yr of Receiving before even being in the NFL - no wonder the boy can move! (I can call him boy because I'm older - haha!) Finally, someone I can look at without going - "Oh bite me, you suck!"

In all fairness, I don't like Plexico either! Young punk - if he played half as hard as Ward did (although, what was up with the chinchilla coat?!), he'd be great. However, he has an severe attitude problem and that is why he isn't in high praise with me.

Alright...here we go, I just got an idea.

Who is your favorite Steeler?

Lets hear some answers!

Mine is a toss up between Ward and Bettis.

IMO: Tommy Maddox only looks like a good QB because he followed Kordell Suck. Anyone looks good after that BS.

Against Buffalo and Baltimore earlier this year, he looked like a scared little puppy amongst rottwheileiers(sp???)

Favorite Steeler? Big Ben restored my faith. Ya gotta love Ward and Bettis's attitudes, but...

One guy stands out on the field as the most crazed wildman I've seen since Jack Lambert. Yes, its the Tazmanian Devil himself, Troy Polamalu.

He is everywhere.

I believe that the real Super Bowl will be played on January 23rd in Pittsburgh. Lack of passing defense will eliminate all but Pats and Steelers. Steelers 27, Pats 23.

Despite no Owens, Philadelphia's defense will stave off all comers.

Philadelphia 31, Atlanta 27

The Eagles will wish they had a bye for the Super Bowl.

Steelers 31, Eagles 10
I thought this would also be a good time to repost my January 8th playoff predictions.

Yeah, Polamalu is a phenomenal player. I remember people saying he was a bad pick last year. They have since renigged on it....lol

But when the man falls he gets at least 5 yards if not more, you know?

i agree with Polamalu he is freaking high strung and like a rocket always at every play almost. I like Farrior and Porter as well. Nothing beat that hit that Porter put on Heap(Ravens) when his leg was broke and he just cracked them. Thats my .2

I like Polamalu also. The only thing I don't like about him is that he dives to much. It's like he is always trying to knock them out of bounds or something ..

Yep, he does that a lot, but his difference is that he still uses his arms to tackle. He's not just trying to be a projectile and hope the other guy falls down like they do in the NFC. You won't see many guys get past him, and not very often.

It's starting to look like winter weather might affect both the AFC and NFC championship games this weekend, and might well play a role in who gets to the Super Bowl.

The early word right now is possible snow for Saturday into Sunday. The snow might clear out of Pittsburgh and western PA during the morning, and before the AFC title game in the evening. It probably wouldn't impact either team that much, since both the Steelers and New England have seen and played in snow. If it would get windy, though, you might see the Steelers stick to pounding the ball on the ground more and relying less on Ben's arm.

The word for the NFC game is that they might still be dealing with heavy snowfall and wind during the afternoon game in Philly. I would think that would work better for the Eagles, as snow and wind would limit Michael Vick's scrambling ability and passing game. Plus Atlanta plays in a dome, so they wouldn't be as accustomed to the elements as the Eagles.

The weather should make both games all the more entertaining!

i look for a steady dose of Bettis and Stahley, 10-12 high percantage passes from big ben, maybe a shot or two up the field, veron haynes should see a screen or two & maybe we'll see a "trick" play out of the stillers. our "D" will hold NE in check. turnovers, field position, t.o.p., and wind will be key in this one. Pittsburgh wins 17-6.

GO STILLERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's the start time on that game? I wanna know if it'll eat into gig time at Blue Knob. Plus, these Saturday night games are really contributing to burnout factor at gigs... people have been drinking since like 4pm, and go home when the band starts. On the other hand, it makes for a not-boring load-in and setup! "Git 'Er Done, Git 'Er Done on them f**kin' drums, dude!"----->JMS

Ready for Steelers!!

Post by Jacklyn Miauff »

Hello Everyone!!! I personally would like to see a PENNSYLVANIA SUPERBOWL! I am definitely a Steeler fan though. My cousin use to be the Steelers Offensive Coordinator (Joe Walton) so my family is definitely
all about the Steelers! Hell.........even my dogs have their own Steeler Jerseys!! LOLOLOL

I hope this week is much better than last! They all should have been in church the next morning thanking GOD for their win. We were very lucky! Hopefully this week they will tighten up more. Just my thoughts........but they looked like they were just going through the motions! I want to see some rough, kick-assing football this week, and if we win..................I will be praying that I win the POWERBALL so I can afford a $3000 ticket to go to the Superbowl!!!!

GO STEELERS!

P.S. Great job Hair Force One on the playing of the Steeler Superbowl Song!!!! LOLOL

From seeing this past week's game, I honestly think the Steelers got lucky. However, knowing how Cower is, they're going to have their stuff together for the game this weekend and should make it to the Super Bowl. The one team I thought was going to be a hard one for them to beat was taken out...The Colts. ;) I hope it'll be two PA teams. CROSS YOUR FINGERS AND HOPE FOR THE BEST! If both PA teams make it, the Eagles are going down baby!! ;)

The Jets were just as lucky to have 17 points and not 3. The way I see it, they traded 2 field goals for 2 touchdowns. Not a bad deal, really.

Yeah, back to Palamalu if I may........
Brad Pitt doesn't deserve to wear the name TROY ,
Palamalu is the only freekin maniac WARRIOR called TROY!
there could be a movie about him!
Seriously, though, I don't think I have ever seen anyone get around the field like him.
I think Metallica wrote a song about him called SEEK and desTROY !
as for Ben He's been a little off, but holy shit, he had a big part in getting us here. I think the gloves screw up his accuracy a little from what I have seen. and I have seen about every tick of every game.
this game is gonna be f@#kin awesome
there's my $0.02
CUNTS will be CUNTS.

My only hope is, that Bettis may see that it doesn't hurt to run around people too. I understand he's huge, and can run through a couple people, but when the whole team is after you, run to the side or something!

I'm all for the Steelers, but as someone else said, a PA superbowl would be GREAT. Just show everyone we've got the 2 best teams.

That's the whole point. It doesn't hurt to run around people. That means defenders too. A big part of Steeler strategy is to relentlessly pound defenders so that by the middle of the 3rd quarter, they are no longer willing or able to put the hit on anybody. Once their will is broken, then comes the 10 minute possessions and the 4th quarter meat grinder...

New England is one of the few teams that can stand toe to toe for 60 minutes with the Steelers. The Steelers must immediately identify what Belichek has up his sleeve and exploit whatever weakness results from his game plan. Last time, they tried to tie up the running game and were shocked to find a big-strike capability with Big Ben. I don't think he'll make the same mistake twice.

BTW, the 2 best teams are playing in Pittsburgh this Sunday. The Eagles would be lucky to get a wild card berth if they were in an AFC division.

Agreed on the AFC and on Belicheck. I hope they are ready because you know he's been licking his chops to get back to the Steelers again.

My prediction: If the Steelers have 2 more turnovers than the Patsies, they lose. If not, they win.
