THE POLITICAL ARENA!!! Political Gladiators Inside!!
I just heard a report that for every $1 the federal government spends, $.37 of it is borrowed. At the rate we are borrowing, in another decade, we will be spending $1 TRILLION annually just on the interest of our debt.
When exactly did our government decide to destroy our country financially?

the govt is not a biz... can't/shouldn't be run like a private for profit biz. we must "borrow" money..every country does it. we must prit money and actually healthy to l"ive slightly beyond our means" so to speak.
i want the govt to provide a relatively 'easy' climate for me to make rich. i want an even playing field with "you" (everyone)..but i want subsidy (within reason) should i stumble. i want nice smooth roads. i want 80mph speed limits. i want vegetable farmers subsidized and fast food conglomerate parasites taxed! (excessively?) they are ruining us with our addictions.
most of all i want FREE or very INEXPENSIVE healthcare..like the rest of the world offers their citizens. i'm embarrassed by our self-serving inhumane healthcare system , as you should be too

"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.
I think I need the decoder ring for this fella's posts. This is the second one that left me scratching my head, wondering what the heck he's trying to convey. The first one being the 'best thumpin best ass guitar' thread. Wasn't entirely sure if he wanted to know who the best guitarist was, what the best guitar was, or which guitarist had the best thumpin' ass?!! So I left that one alone.bassist_25 wrote:I think it was the lyrics to that Pussycat Dolls song.sstuckey wrote:I honestly don't understand half of what you just wrote.faster pussycat wrote:the govt is not a biz... can't/shouldn't be run like a private for profit biz. we must "borrow" money..every country does it. we must prit money and actually healthy to l"ive slightly beyond our means" so to speak.

Music Rocks!
The rich keep getting richer, a cry heard loud and clear on this website.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) saw her net worth rise 62 percent last year, cementing her status as one of the wealthiest members of Congress.

Good post Joe.

That is not the conclusion Bill, it is just a statement from Elliott F. Gue’s Personal Finance Newsletter. Whoever the hell Elliot F. Gue is.Hawk wrote:Excellent conclusion in your article Joe, thanks.

Nice that Nancy Pelosi does not have to worry about misery. She had an increase of 62% in her income last year.
One should not jump to defend this Obamination when his administration, with the help of Nancy Pelosi, ruins the American economy.

I'm not miserable. My pre-crash divestiture is going quite nicely and on schedule. I'll be ready when there's blood in the streets.

I still like this one: What is the difference between George W. Bush and Barack Obama?
One is a clueless politician and the other is a clueless politician with a teleprompter.

Target is now a Target:

if the unions get their way, say buh-bye to better quality lower-priced stuff.
It doesn't matter anyhoo. This week, under cover of QE2, the Federal Reserve will lie thru their teeth about inflation and justify another several months of 0% overnight interest rates to prolong government borrowing; however, QE2 will run out a week later and that will put upward pressure on interest rates.
The US government can only get away with printing more dollars while the dollar is the world's reserve currency. When interest rates rise back to historically normal levels, it will make the debt service the largest item on the budget. If we have runaway inflation like the 70s/80s, government revenues won't even cover interest on the debt. In the latter case, the dollar would IMMEDIATELY be removed as the world's reserve currency and you will be able to stick a fork in the American Empire. Almost overnight, the American standard of living would drop at least 25%.
Under these conditions, the only program that the government will afford is the one that keeps them in power--the military. Austerity measures will essentially eliminate all social programs...except that each precinct will get a visit from a military truck filled with government food rations.
Could it happen? Look up the phrase: normalcy bias
