Maybe some of you can answer this for me: Republicans were in control of Congress for the last 6 years of Clinton's presidency, so technically didn't they leave the surplus?? The President can't spend a dime without Congressional approval, so how did he leave any money behind??
Pour me another one, cause I'll never find the silver lining in this cloud.

"Wide acceptance of an idea is not proof of its validity." -- Dan Brown, "The Lost Symbol"
This applies to religion, right-wing politics and Glenn Beck's rally. And the Tea Party.
As to George Bush, he created the problems that Obama has had to deal with. It took Bush 8 years to get us into this mess and the repubs expect Obama to snap his finger and fix everything.
Repubs have a short memory, too. I once heard Dick Cheney proclaim that "There were no terrorist attack on U.S. soil during the Bush administration. I certainly remember something happening on the the morning of 9/11/00.

First of all, the failure of these securities was as a result of bad mortgages (i.e. the housing bubble), not vice versa. These securities represented the performance of the underlying mortgages. They could not wag the dog.
2nd of all, mortgage backed securities were NEVER regulated.

There was one attack on Bushes watch, the policies of Clinton led up to that attack. On the Obama watch, there were four attempted attacks - Well five if you include the recent "Dry run".
Also, Bush spent 700 billion on the War in the eight years that he was there - Obama spent 800 billion on a stimulus the first year he was there. The war in Iraq worked, the stimulus didn't ..
The left sees no wrong with a liberal, but sees all wrong with a Republican. They should all look in the mirror, as they are no different than the people they blame when they can't do something right ...

Everything you blame liberals for, you do. Every tactic you blame them for, you do it. If you haven't recognised it by now (like every one else on Rockpage has) you show yourself to be STUPID AGAIN !

What I meant for 9/11 is that we were attacked multiple times while clinton was Pres, he did nothing about it. There were multiple things that caused the attacks. Not one Pres is to blame for it. But, Clinton could have helped with stopping it.Hawk wrote:If you start spewing rhetoric stereotypical shit (Wait, you said only liberals do that) I'll make you cry again.f.sciarrillo wrote:It was 9/11/01 ...Atomic Jim wrote:"Wide acceptance of an idea is not proof of its validity." -- Dan Brown, "The Lost Symbol"

Show me proof that stimulus worked. And also tell me why the unemployment rate is at 9.5%, when Obama promised that passing it would not take it above 8%.
And, show me where the Libs don't blame the Repubs for everything. Especially when what they want doesn't go their way. There was a environmentalist nut case who went into the Discovery Channel building today and took hostages, I look for the libs to blame that on Bush - They might as well, they blame everything on him - Obama didn't make the Basketball team in 1st grade, that is Bushes fault as well.
The Bush term is over, it is almost two years into Obama's Admin - From this point on, it is his fault ...
And last but not least. Explain to me why none of the idiots in the government look in the mirror before shooting their mouths off about how bad the other is.

Bushe's watch:
Anthrax terrost attack. Killed five.
The feds blames the wrong guy (sound familure, so Bush could say, "We got him"). They drove the wrong guy to kill himself.
2002 attack at LA airport, 2 killed
Christmas day (failed) shoe bomber. Called a terrorist attack on Obama's watch.
2001 (failed) shoe bomber. NOT called a terrorist attack under Bush's watch.

The surplus money that has been used so far WAS SPENT. It went into the economy fool. If you took that money OUT of the economy, there would be many LESS JOBS than there are now.
Try this. I'll make it simple for you.
Our money from the government goes to infrastructure and other necessities. Jobs created. Those people spend that money and pay taxes. More jobs created or saved. You know it as the Ronald Reagan trickle down theory. But instead of the rich hoarding it (no trickle down) the people get their own money back and we all reap the benefits.
BTW Bush was filled in with everything the Clinton administration knew about Bin Laden. Bush didn't take it too seriously. Although it did give him a reason to start a war and go after a THE WRONG GUY !

How many of these jobs you claim that were created/saved were private sector, and how many of them are still employed?Hawk wrote:Bushe's watch:

Clinton still didn't want to do anything about Bin Laden - If he would have, we wouldn't have been attacked on 9/11. He took the problem and passed it on. That seems to be a trend with Presidents. They let what they don't want to deal with go on to the next one.
As for going into Iraq, it is already documented that Bush was given the wrong info ..

Yeah, Clinton just couldn't track down Bin Laden, but that Bush did a great job of tracking him down and capturing him. Wait. Bush had 8 years and he didn't even get close to Bin Laden. Maybe he was too busy with that REAL threat in Iraq.

I don't see Obama trying to go after him either. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if Obama is writing an apology speech directed to him.Atomic Jim wrote:Yeah, Clinton just couldn't track down Bin Laden, but that Bush did a great job of tracking him down and capturing him. It's well documented that Bush choose the wrong information and choose to ignore the correct information. Don't you remember the poor girl undercover agent outed by Chaney to get back at her husband for saying there are no weapons of mass destruction ? Don't you remember that there was a team in Iraq looking for weapons and they announced repeatedly (before the war) that there are no WMD ?f.sciarrillo wrote:How many of these jobs you claim that were created/saved were private sector, and how many of them are still employed?Hawk wrote:Bushe's watch:

I can't fault you here for being stupid. It is your multiple sources that hid it from you.
Clinton didn't do anything. NEITHER DID BUSH and he had the same information.
Seems to me the people at Chrysler and GM and every company that supports them are still working. Seems to me they're even paying back some of the money. Tell me how we'd be better off if they closed.
Bridges and roads are still being repaired with that money. And that money is still trickling into other jobs.
There is no way to give a number.
Explain to me how, by closing all of them, we would have higher employment ?

The auto companies filing for bankruptcy would not have hurt them. They could have restructured to clear thier debts and people would have been able to keep their jobs. It happens all the time. There is more than one type of Bankruptcy. Plus, if the Unions wouldn't have been so greedy and expecting them to pay more than they are worth, they would be better off as well.
As of the stimulus - there was more government jobs than private sector. The biggest majority of those being temp census workers, who, the majority of those are laid off now collecting Unemployment again. With there being 9.5% Unemployment, their aren't that many roads being made, and not many census workers knocking on doors.

No one would buy a car from a company who went bankrupt, but they would buy a car from a company backed by the USA. Do you understand that they are not working anymore? They are collecting unemployment. This week there was 475,000 new applications for unemployment. There are numerous companies saying that as long as Obama is Pres, they will not be hiring.Hawk wrote:And what did those census workers do with their money ? Spend it. That is a cop out. People would to buy from a car company that filed for bankruptcy - Look at Chrysler in the 80's. Also look at the other companies that filed for bankruptcy and people still bought things from them. They would have been fine ..Hawk wrote:No one would buy a car from a company who went bankrupt, but they would buy a car from a company backed by the USA. Also, Lehman Brothers Collapsed. They are going under - They are the largest bank to fail in history. Where is the depression? You better put on your tin foil hat and wait for the hail bop comet...

In 1979 Chrysler was bailed out by the Federal Government with 1.5 Billion Dollars ! Which they paid back ! The bailout worked...
Don't you ever tire of playing the fool ? Really Frank, it's about time you quit trusting your "sources"...Fox wink wink.
