No, you're confusing my post with Palin's Tea Party speech last night. Say howdy, mention God, veterans, the flag, and your kids, sprinkle heavily with "big government" and "traditional values' references that mean nothing, blame Obama, and collect your 100 grand. The only solution she offered to any issue? "We win, they lose." That was it, and she didn't explain that. I watched the lefty commentary afterward, and they were BEGGING the right to field her as their prez candidate in '12, a position I wholly support. Please... Run, Sarah, Run!! She also said that she wants the Tear Party Nation to be absorbed by the GOP, and got no standing ovation for that one at all. That would be that internal division the Tear Party suffers from... oh, everybody's angry over there, but at WAY different stuff. Excellent...lonewolf wrote:[I see that you have been successfully diverted from the crux of the problem and are toeing the populist line with references to all the tangential past issues that get people going, but reveal no solutions.

I haven't diverted from the crux of the problem at all. Talkshows hosts were told to compare the current admin to the FDR admin in much the same way they were told to compare it to Hitler's. Really, I can tie anyone to anyone, ala the Reagan/Obama similarities I've mentioned previously. It's standard propaganda stuff, reductio ad bad-guy-um. In fact, the phrase "socializing healthcare," last summer's catch-phrase, was not originated by right-wingers last year, it was coined by a NYC ad agency hired by the American Medical Association, a trade org, in 1947. The phrase played on Cold War fears being propagated by the righties, who always need fear of a villain that... isn't them.
So anyway, the crux of the problem is that rightwing media is wholly responsible for the "traditional values" of the wingnut base, but the wingnut base is not in charge, so all they can do is keeping tossing monkeywrenches into the progress machine. Believe me, many people notice that, but we don't need to wrap ourselves in the flag and bawl about it. We know that according to the Constitution of The United States Of America, Land of the Free, Home of the Brave, God Bless Our Veterans and Old Glory: 59 votes is still a majority.
