Deer Season Is "Family Tradition"
CARROLLTOWN, CAMBRIA COUNTY--- The first day of deer hunting season kicked off Monday with a damp and dreary start.
The cold and wet weather didn’t stop the Illig family from hitting the woods to ‘bag a buck.” This was the first hunting season where 12-year old Calem Illig was able kill a deer himself.
“I am really excited, I love hunting, just love it,” said Illig.
Calem trucked through the woods with his dad, uncle and grandpop, and by the end of the day Calem “bagged his first buck.”
Dick Illig, Calem’s uncle, says its great watching the new generation following in family tradition.
"In this day and age with all the cell phones and Ipods, its hard to get kids outside, but this, this is old fashion family fun."

first of all you are not killing a deer "yourself", i'd like to see that! you have high-tech weaponry capable of target @200 yards! where is the thrill in that?
