Pennywise is great.

I listed to the album version of Creed's overcome and it's really good so I'll hold my opinion until I've heard the rest.

the best thing creed ever did was break up...why did they have to ruin a good thing.
The script was written, and the villian was cast. The provocation needed, they will provide. They did it before, they'll do it again.

very good

Post by tornandfrayed »

Very good CD. I have been listening to it a lot. Can't help it just like good music... This is the best they have ever done IMO...

But then I like Nickelback, Bright Eyes and Shadows Fall also...

I still say it is the song that does it and not really the player....

Who would have thought...

its funny, i've been a really big fan of creed for a long time, they have been my biggest musical influence, and at this time i do think this and my own prison were their best cds, my own prison is unbeatable in my eyes as far as music quality, but the first cd always is...this cd runs right up there with my own prison.

I agree with bassistforlife, I think "Full Circle" is a very good CD.

I find a post about a new album I'm actually interested in. I start to read the thread to see what others think. I quickly loose interest thanks to the derelicts that make negative comments and have not even bothered to give it a listen.

This forum will never change. I have no idea why I ever venture any further than the bands wanted section. Have fun everyone.

the same derelicts who post on 'general discussion' also post on 'bands wanted'. if you got in a band with them...they might just piss ya off at practice when they say how gay scott stapp is.

unless creed completely changed their sound (which is highly unlikely) then im not going to like it. Its not the album its the band, and since i didn't like ANYTHING before this album, i am not going to waste time and money on it.

Well, if you haven't heard the album, you don't like the band, and you aren't wasting money on it, why are you wasting your time posting hatred towards something you haven't even heard? Most of the CD doesn't have the same sound, so yea, the band has changed a lot. Guess you will never know because you won't waste time to listen to it. To each their own, and you are entitled to your opinion, but don't bash something you haven't given a chance....Open mindedness at its best right here...

there is no doubt about it, scott stapps voice is shot, you can tell because the entire CD is recorded in B flat tuning, either B flat, or open b flat. The studio magic that is done on his voice is great and really smooths over the rough parts, but his live performances have been hurting. Overall though, it sounds good, the new cd kicks a lot of ass. I think they have traveled a different road and i hope they continue to put out CDs of this caliber. They only renegotiated the contract because they were permitted full creative control over the direction of the band, so I don't think we will hear the creed of the "human clay" and "weathered" days come back again. I think if they continue after this, we will hear more of the My own prison style, and Full Circle style.

I am open minded enough to post my opinion of a band, If you can't handle my or anyone else opinions, i would advise you not to read the thread. I'm truly sorry that i don't hear anything in a Creed album that makes me think they are great. They in my opinion are the B-side to a Pearl Jam album.

an opinion is an opinion none-the-less. someone chose not to waste his time on a new creed album because he knows that type of music won't move him. his opinion of them made him choose not to listen to the new album. but as you said, opinions should be heard-so, why not skip what you don't agree with and post what you like about the cd. moaning about people who don't agree with you...well, that's rockpage i guess

I still don't get the Pearl Jam comments that people make. Stapp is a baritone, so what?? Musically, they sound nothing like Pearl Jam.

+1 Stapp and Veddar have a similar register and timbre. Albeit, Stapp has better pitch than Veddar. Veddar goes out of key too much for my tastes. Other than that, I don't see the connection between the two. Pearl Jam is an alternative band with a big blues and classic rock influence. Creed is a post-grunge hard rock band with a more metallic influence. It's like saying Coheed and Cambria is just a Rush knockoff because Claudio Sanchez has a similar voice to Geddy Lee.
