Yes - another political thought...
Yeah, I believe Spain pulled their troops in the wake of the Madrid train bombings, as did the Phillipines, but the numbers aren't too far off. It's odd, too, but I swear I heard about the France oil-for-food thing before the war even broke, dunno about Russia, but it sounds kosher... they sell nuke secrets, armaments, and little kids... I wouldn't put it past them. I'm definitely against allowing them any chance to profit on Iraq's reconstruction.--->JMS
Another great article by Ann Coulter
Inmates 'Have A Plan' To Run The Asylum
October 20, 2004
While the people of Afghanistan are celebrating their first democratic election and the Iraqis are taking their first steps to democracy, the great thinkers in the Democratic Party are still polishing up their conspiracy theories about the war to liberate Iraq.
There's no consensus position, but the Democrats are pretty sure the real reason we went to Iraq was one of the following:
Bush family's connections to the Saudis,
Halliburton,
the Carlyle Group,
something about the Texas Rangers needing more left-handed pitching,
the neoconservatives,
the Straussians,
oil,
the Jews,
oily Jews.
This may be the first time in American history that the decisional calculus for many voters will be: Do I really want to throw my hat in with these crazy people?
John Kerry has called the war with Iraq "a huge mistake, a catastrophic mistake." He said it was no excuse that "Saddam might have done it 10 years from now" – use weapons of mass destruction against Americans, apparently. (New Kerry campaign slogan: "Let Radical Islamic Iraq Be Radical Islamic Iraq!")
The Democrats want Saddam back. I suppose it was only a matter of time for the party that also welcomed back Marion Barry, Ted Kennedy, Barney Frank, Al Sharpton, Frank Lautenberg, Hillary Clinton, etc., etc.
When Bush pointed out that Saddam would still be in power if Kerry were president, Kerry contradicted him, but provided no theory of how Saddam would be gone. Instead, he simply said: "Not necessarily be in power" – and then trailed off into a long-winded explanation of one of those positions on which he's "always been consistent." Maybe Saddam would still be in power – but there would have been an extremely effective and persistent opposition led by brave media pundits!
Speaking of which, where are the feminists on war with Iraq? Cameron Diaz' statement about Bush's policies – "if you think rape should be legal, then don't vote" – would have been perfectly true had she been speaking to an audience in Iraq. These people think it is constructive rape to have sex with your husband. America has just gone to war against a regime for which rape – not date rape, or pseudo-rape, or virtual rape, but real rape – was part of the official policy, and they're against regime-change.
Among his other pointless carping about the war in Iraq, Kerry keeps claiming the military is overextended. His supporters claim Bush has a secret plan to bring back the draft. Whatever happened to all those gays who wanted to join the military? We haven't heard a peep out of them lately. How about rounding up a "Coalition of the Fabulous," Sen. Kerry? And what does his good pal Mary Cheney tell him about that?
With the election a few weeks away, the two main reasons Kerry has settled on for why you should vote for him are: (1) Dick Cheney has a lesbian daughter, and (2) Halliburton!
The highlight of the debates for Moveon.org members came whenever Edwards or Kerry managed to work "Halliburton!" into an answer. Kerry explained he voted against the $87 billion for the troops in Iraq because, "I didn't want to give a slush fund to Halliburton." (Nor equipment to the troops, apparently.) This week, he also tied Halliburton to the flu-shot shortage, telling a Florida audience, "If Halliburton made flu shots, there would be more flu here than oranges."
Edwards raised the Democrats' brilliant "Halliburton!" point, saying: "While [Cheney] was CEO of Halliburton, they paid millions of dollars in fines for providing false information on their company – just like Enron and Ken Lay." Not only that, but Bush and Cheney have offices – just like Enron and Ken Lay. They have employees – just like Enron and Ken Lay. They pay their employees – just like Enron and Ken Lay.
The Party of Ideas is now equating Halliburton with Enron. The only surprise is that Edwards didn't throw in Watergate and Abscam just for good measure.
As even the New York Times admitted the day after the vice presidential debate, "[T]here is no evidence Mr. Cheney has pulled strings on Halliburton's behalf" and "The independent General Accountability Office concluded that Halliburton was the only company that could have provided the services the Army needed at the outset of the war."
Most amazingly, the Democrats have the chutzpah to complain that Bush claimed he was a "uniter" and yet(!), "have you ever seen America more divided?" – as the Democrats' Demosthenes Edwards put it.
This from a candidate (I almost said a "man") whose campaign falsely accused the president of stealing an election, barring a million black voters from the polls, and sending a thousand American soldiers to their deaths just for oil.
Coincidentally, the very day of the vice presidential debate, a gun was fired into a Bush-Cheney campaign office in Bearden, Tenn. – one of a series of violent attacks on Republican offices around the country. (You can tell it was Democrats firing those guns because none of the shots ever hit anything.)
Also that day, a group of liberal loonies stormed a Bush-Cheney office in Orlando, Fla., and ransacked the place. A few weeks earlier, a 62-year-old woman in Manhattan was beaten with a cane by an 86-year-old woman for carrying a Bush-Cheney sign.
On the basis of their own insane, violent behavior toward Republicans, Democrats demand to be put in the White House – so the violence will stop. At this rate, it's only a matter of time before the Kerry campaign announces that anti-Bush insurgents control most of the Bush-Cheney 2004 headquarters, and that the sooner the U.S. pulls out of those quagmires the better.
If only we could get Democrats to show a little of that manly anger toward the terrorists, maybe Americans would be able to trust them with national security

Im sorry man, I just dont see the logic in that rambling, for a so-called intelligent high profile woman, that sure was a bunch of negative HORSESHIT! Seriously, she gets paid to write articles like that? Im not just saying this because Im Pro-Kerry, I really think the people who sign her paychecks should reconsider. I think some of my posts on here have more validity that that feeble attempt at an article. That article showed frustration on the part of a woman who was trying hard to make valid points but failed, Im glad shes not on our side

I agreed with Coulter back after 9/11 when she said we should put a temporary ban on immigration, and revoke "student" visa's for "students" from hostile countries. That article, however, only points to my comment about desperation. Again, Mary Cheney is mentioned. HELLO-- she's gay. In the VICE-presidential debate, Dick Cheney praised John Edwards for "his kind words regarding my daughter." Mary Cheney was outed 6 months ago on the evening news... by Dick himself. "Evil" John Kerry refers to her... and the entire right wing cries foul. Did anyone even answer the question Kerry posed? Does she feel she was "born gay," or "became gay?" Too much righteous indignation to actually ask the woman... mmmm, smell that desperation.
Three words for Ann Coulter...to quote The Rock, "I Like Pie."
I've said it before...I know some here are tired of the political debate, but this is the most important political season of our generation, and there are some pretty smart views here from some pretty smart people. The election will be over soon, but I'm proud that we're educated and involved in it. Escape from it in your music, if you need to, but it'll still be there.--->JMS

The thing I can't figure out is, why the fuck aren't you over there. You don't seem to care about anyone who is suffering because of this war. I mean seriously, if I lost my wife over there, if my daughter lost her mother and you tried to give me this "boo-hoo, get over it, last I heard it was voluntary" or any of the snide remarks you like to make, I'd bloody your face, and I guarantee there's a hell of a lot of people that feel this way. This post isn't, by any means, meant to be a threat. I'm just saying, it might be a good idea for you to empathize a little before you go pissing people off with your ignorant remarks especially when you're dealing with people's loved ones.

Hillary Duff or Lindsey Lohan - who is the hotter teen star?
Lindsey has that bad girl thing about her (plus she's the age of legal consent), but Hillary has a sweetness to her. I like curvy women and Hillary is very curvy. On the other hand, Lindsey has a lot of cute freckles. Lindsey also gains points for being a red-head. Still, I'm going to have to go with Hillary on this one.

By the way, I'd rather listen to Rush "But my drug depedency is different because it was to prescription meds" Limbaugh for 24 hours straight than have to gag my way through one of Coulter's diatribes of McCarthyist propaganda. I don't understand how someone could hate such a large number of people just because they have a differing political idealology. Coulter could shit her pants while having the flu, and she would probaly find someway to blame it on the liberals.
If anyone's ever followed my posts closely, it's pretty apparent that I don't like pundits on either side. Anyone who further polarizes the country by feeding on ignorance, confirmation bias, and outgroup homogeinity bias should have their ass kicked. The spin machine is in full-tilt and I always seem to forget my Dramamine at home.
Think for yourself.

Sorry!
Sorry all of you guys but the sad truth is that neither of these candidates gives a rats behind about you! Na NA NA NA nA!
When the founding Fathers declared that America was a "Democracy" they knew it had never been done before. They knew it was an "experiement".
Well the unfortunate truth is that the founding of this democracy created a new animal, the POLITOCIAN. The common man is not supported and the government is not "By the people and for the people" The majority of us learned that in 2000 in the "Election ( Appointment? )".
Vote and pray. Treat the people in your life with respect and caring. Work to better your community. Build relationships with the people around you. But don't believe for a minute that attacking Iraq makes you safe. Don't believe that pulling out of Iraq makes you safe either. The damage is done, America is the roque bully on the block. Europe has been terrorized for years and I think that 9/11 occurred because of our leadership. People saw a weakness here. But I digress.
I don't know about you guys but I never liked the Bully on the playground.
And anyway I could see Bush "Winning" this election, I mean Duran Duran got back together!
Lindsey Lohan and she does like to have a good time!

I'm basically sick and tired of hearing liberals talking about the innocent lives that this war is taking when in all reality, the only innocent lives were those on Sept. 11th. I feel for the families and friends of the soldiers that are killed in this, I wish it weren't so. But I am not blind to the fact that this country was forced into this war by terrioristic violence against the US and that we have not had another terrorist attack on our soil since Bush had the balls to go after them.
That is what I feel.
Look at how many soldiers lost their lives in the Battle of the Buldge or in Normandy - what we lost so far doesn't even begin to compare. Lives are still lives and I believe they are precious. (Of course I wouldn't expect to many Liberals to agree with that when they also agree with abortion) But yes, lives are precious and I respect and admire our military both past and present. But, they signed up of their own free will. That is the truth and you know it.
I have several good friends serving there now. My sisters husband has been there twice now. A very very close friend of my who was a groomsman in my wedding has been there twice as well. I understand what you are saying, but at the same time - they are doing what they signed up for and what they were trained to do.
I was sickened by the bleeding hearts that were upset when some of the women (WITH FAMILIES) that were in the reserves were called to serve. What did they think they were signing up for? An extra paycheck without any chance that they would be called upon? Money for college? What?
And don't talk to me about snide remarks. Of the 40 or so posts that I have seen you respond to, there are only a small handful of them where you are not name calling and stereotyping. So, basically Mad Hatter, if I pissed you off - GREAT because I couldn't give a shit about you. I've never seen you "empathetic" in any of your posts.
Do I care that our military is risking their lives - You bet I do.
But I also look at the big picture. How many "Innocent" lives might be saved both here an abroad?

Take a look at my posts. I make snide remarks to, uh, let's see here, YOU. I basically disagree with about 99.9% of everything you post. I think your full of shit. If you actually gave a shit about the people who signed on to protect us, you certainly wouldn't be for this fucking charade of a war. Don't give me your "I do care about our troops, I'm looking at the big picture" bullshit. USE YOUR FUCKING HEAD MAN, LIVES ARE NOT BEING SAVED.And don't talk to me about snide remarks. You know what, I'm done wasting my time with you. I don't give a fuck about you. It disgusts me that there are actually people like you in this world. It almost sickens me that we share a passion for music.
As far as I'm concerned, empathy need not be wasted on worthless fucks such as yourself.
Hope you're pissed

You know what the military is like? It's like giving blood. Some people want to do it. Some people don't. Some people can do it. Some people can't. Some get turned down every so often, others are taken all the time.
Colds, infections, low iron, being over or under weight, bad backs, lack of vision or hearing, etc...
And there are sometimes complications. Sometimes a needle isn't sterile enough. HIV, Hepatitis, infection... Sometimes the vein won't close up right away...dizziness, fainting, blood loss.
Sometimes we enlist and our number is pulled and we serve. Sometimes we only get by with Reserve Unit duty.
Sometimes our Iron is low and we get turned away, sometimes we have health problems and Uncle Sam says we'd be more use cheering from the side lines and praying vs. carrying a gun.
The fact is, if you don't want to serve and possibly be sent over seas to fight a war, don't sign up. If you don't want to go give blood, don't get a donor card.
Either way you can give life. Either way you can take life.
Stop sniveling about our boys (and gal's is included in boys) over there. Uncle Sam had the consequences along with the bonus's they'd have written on the contract. They were big boys and big girls. They could read. They understood what they were signing up for.
All men die. Not all men truely live. What will your epitaph say about you.
I'd rather die with a bullet in my back, defending my friends and family, AND COUNTRY, than walk away with my tail between my legs. That's my opinion.
Oh well. We can't dictate wars. We aren't the big whigs who decide when and where we war it. But I do know this: Stop arguing about it. What difference does that make? If we get more planes in our buildings, you sure as hell know Kerry (God forbid him becoming president) would be sending our boys over in there in kill mode. Just like Bush did. We can't stop that. And the fkn draft has been around at least since the civil war...WW I WW II there too... A draft isn't anything new. It isn't anything different. It isn't anything we've never been through before.
If you don't agree with the war, too bad. Support the men and women over there risking their lives for us. And if you can't even do that, there's the door. France is only a few hours flight from here.

We must have gotten sidetracked again. Let's think about this now children. Let's all say this together now slowly.... Osam bin-Laden was responsible for 2000+ deaths on 9/11... I could care less about Saddam Hussein and Iraq, and I could probably think of a few others who feel the same. Could it be the friends and family of those who died in 9/11? Hmmm, could be.If we get more planes in our buildings, you sure as hell know Kerry (God forbid him becoming president) would be sending our boys over in there in kill mode. Just like Bush did. It takes balls to admit to have made a mistake. George's shriveled up nuts now aren't going to win him the election. GOD FORBID HIM GETTING RE-ELECTED!
I'm not real brushed on my American history but I'm sure somewhere along the way people fought to do away with the draft. Making someone go and kill and die against their will is WRONG. I'm an American and I'll be damned if I'll leave because I don't agree with the gov't.
You right-wingers are side-tracked and so deep in confusion now, it's almost a lost cause (for you) to see the truth.

These discussions are just the same old shit being rehashed over, and over, and over, and over again.
Should I be offended by the "how old are you?" Honestly, I could care less what you think.
Apology huh? I'm sure that' happen

Did I say "I don't give a fuck about you"? Sorry, I meant to say "I don't give a flying fuck about you". That better?
Fuck it, I'm done
ahhhhh politics.
lets recap.....
it took bush's america less time to take over iraq than it did when janet reno took over a piece of property in waco, texas.
...and what was koresh doing there to get that?
stocking up on weapons?
it took less time than it did janet reno to kidnap an illegal alien child in florida and send him home where he belongs.
a child, you liberal pigs.
in ww2, we conquered germany and japan.
..and yes, we still occupy these countries.
after 60 years, we still have armed forces in these countries.
truth: cheneys band of thieves are the only company, not in america, but in the world, that does what they do.
clinton contracted them and so did bush.
..and as of the start of the bush/cheney presidency, cheney does not own a cent in that company.
so the argument there is pointless. anyone to argue is not informed and talk spin.
kerry will be, if elected, the richest president in the world.
he will be the first billionaire president, and only paid 12% of taxes on that wealth.
take a break, and figure out what you liberals have made, and tell me you only paid 12% taxes.
do you really think a billionaire will give himself a tax hike?
manufacturing has been moving over seas.
hienz ketchup, which was founded in pittsburgh, makes 79% of its ketchup overseas.
...and is america's no. 8 worst company that polutes this country.
how can a company that makes 19% of its product be no. 8 worst poluting company in our country?
lets recap.....
it took bush's america less time to take over iraq than it did when janet reno took over a piece of property in waco, texas.
...and what was koresh doing there to get that?
stocking up on weapons?
it took less time than it did janet reno to kidnap an illegal alien child in florida and send him home where he belongs.
a child, you liberal pigs.
in ww2, we conquered germany and japan.
..and yes, we still occupy these countries.
after 60 years, we still have armed forces in these countries.
truth: cheneys band of thieves are the only company, not in america, but in the world, that does what they do.
clinton contracted them and so did bush.
..and as of the start of the bush/cheney presidency, cheney does not own a cent in that company.
so the argument there is pointless. anyone to argue is not informed and talk spin.

I'll get the bug out of my ass when America is once again, free and the dictator is gone.
Sinman, go fall off your harley.
MadHatter,
Do you want to know what I find very amusing? (no, you probably don't, but I will type away anyway.)
I find it amusing that what got you started was the following statement that I made:
It makes me chuckle because it is the same thing that I get from many (not all) of the people on the left. The exact same thing!!!!!!
Okay - I'll try to explain it to you.
I made a statement that is completely, without a doubt, verifiably TRUE. And it ticked you off. My statement is true, isn't it? Can you find any holes in the logic? Can you disagree with the statement?
I find it amazing that so many people on the left never want to hear the truth because the truth may just contradict their beliefs.
I like the truth. That is why I like Bush and hate Kerry because I believe what George W. says and no one has any clue which side of the fence John K is going to land on next. I like the truth that is why I asked Stonekrow to get me more information about the Rep. Party spending an extreme amount of money on something that was foolish - I didn't like finding out what they did, but I liked having the truth. I like truth!!! (okay, now this is where you quote that I like the truth and tell me that "the truth is that I am a fucking moron or something equally clever".)
p.s. Sinman - keep the rubber side down brother!!

Doesn't that strike you as funny? It should!!Last I heard, our military was still voluntary!

A liberal is someone who feels a great debt to his fellow man; a debt he proposes to pay off with your money. -G Gordon Liddy
OK, I have to put my $.02 in here. byndrsn, you keep mentioning your "voluntary" statement and how "true" it is and mentioning someone cant find a hole in the logic, well guess what Sunny Jim? I can! and I wasn't going to say anything but I cant stand to see you parade it around anymore like a proud parent who's kid just won an award at a freaking Science Fair. Yes, the military is voluntary, and yes people sign up by their own free will, BUT CAN'T YOU SEE THAT THEY SIGN UP AND OFFER THEIR SERVICES WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THEY WILL NEVER BE PUT IN HARMS WAY UNLESS IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!!!!! Why on earth do you think some, not all, troops are absolutely disgusted with all of this? Because they see first hand what's going on and they feel betrayed because this war is NOT what they signed up for. Why dont you republicans worry about the 760,000 lbs of explosives that were "misplaced" in Iraq and are now in the hands of terrorists, that should tell you where the Bush administrations priorities are. I stand behind all of our troops and I pray for an end sometime soon. God help us all.

You hit the nail square on the head Stonekrow. All it takes is a little common sense. People like byndrsn will not ever allow themselves to see the truth. Think about it, they love and praise Bush because he is so thick-headed and won't admit mistake. Thus, trying to justify sending kids over to keep dying in Iraq, a war that SHOULD NOT BE, with no end in sight. Sorry, byndrsn, you can say, til you're blue in the face, that the sky is green, but guess what, it's blue.
Yes, that little "it's voluntary" remark you made set me off because it was a sarcastic comment towards someone who's feeling the pain of an unjust war, and they are the people I empathize with.
