I can't believe your GF was able to hang on to the side of the pick up truck! That's insane!

But, who cares how many times the kid apologize - turn it into the kid's insurance and hopefully you get a lot more than the bike is worth and it covers the deductible, your emotional distress, your rental, etc...

But, in all seriousness - I wouldn't doubt that this was an eye opening experience that changes the kids life. If he didn't hit you (a rider who is obviously experienced enough to handle his bike in a bad situation on the road), he might have kept driving carelessly and hit someone with less experience...and on an interstate - that is almost never a good outcome for the guy on the motorbike... Glad you kept the bike up... That's amazing!
