I too have lived most of my life to this point in a big city. Things like this don't surprise me. Hearing about a shooting on the news is something I'm still somewhat cold to, and I'll confess that. My family and I moved up here so we could at least find somewhere that we aren't constantly seeing these sorts of events. We realize, time and time again, that this kind of thing can happen in any neighborhood, anywhere in the US. Likelihoods are lessened, but human flesh is only so soft, and it's so easy to find something that can easily destroy it

Despite all of that seeming somewhat cold and callous, I still feel like this sort of thing shouldn't happen, and that there are no words to describe how horrible this can be. I've seen families go from bright harvests of humanity, shining hopes and dreams, and I've seen all of those shatter before us, leaving bits and pieces of memory faded away by bitter, cruel injustice. Mankind is senseless at times, and as we've only devised better ways to do greater injustices, some days, I have to wonder what the big plan here really is, and what we are evolving to

I understand why the various school shootings happen as I've been in that mentality of darkness before. I can at least find a level of humanity for the ones who commited those crimes not because of what they became, but because of what they had lost the fight to endure. At least they were actually driven to a bad point. Not that I condone their actions, but then I can accept why occurances became events. But this is repulsive. Most people know that next to no one is going to play Hero in an armed robbery attempt. Why turn simple needs into bloodsplatter

All of that said, my condolences to those who have lost someone not just in this tragedy, but in any true tragedy. I hope that your lives may be rebuilt, and that some level of justice and light shine on you. Words can't describe what I feel, though I hope my words and the words of everyone here can bring some sort of comfort :(

Where are all the heroes? I'm a grown man and in times like these, I really, really do wish that Batman, Spider-Man, or in this case, the Punisher really did exist.

This hits near me because the shooter (Nick Horner) I went to school with here in johnstown. We went to Conemaugh Valley. He was a very messed up kid in high school. He was always in fights, dealing drugs and all kind of trouble.

Laugh if you want to, really is kinda funny, 'cause the world is a car and you're the crash test dummy.
