Ron wrote:Clint, did you ever read the original "Frankenstein"? One of the scariest things I've ever read. It's a bit of a tough read at times because of the olde English, but Mary Shelley's original monster makes Karloff's character look like Tinky Winky.

Ron, while it has been decades since I read it, I agree that's one that'll stay with you! However, if I recall the description regarding the hue of the creature's skin correctly, wouldnt La La have been a tad more appropriate? ('Tis doubtful it was as bright as La La's! )

Btw, there is/was a flick: "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein". (Sting even has a role in it.) I have it on tape somewhere, and nah, imho it wasn't as horrifying as the book.
(Actually, imo I don't believe it was horrifying at all. There was one from the '60s or '70s that was a bit more genuine.)

The special effects in a lot of modern horror movies are too (I don't even know if this is a word)
fantastical to be even remotely 'real' and that makes it not a true, actual 'horror' movie, at least imho. :) One that comes to mind involved a house I was told I 'had' to see...there was this huge clock contraption...'13 Ghosts' possibly. Any way, imo it was just plain stupid and I couldn't wait for it to be over.

Red Rum!
My best friend Paul Lancaster has an Ozzy/Metallica cover band named RedRum.
They are from Uniontown,PA and they are slated to play the Moorefest in November.
I am not a metal fan or hard rock fan but I recommend Moorefest....
especially to watch The Embalmed. Those dudes are cool.

Here is a link for all things film and Frankenstein:

A few things were nagging at me, so I had to check them out and I discovered I've seen a LOT of Frankenstein flicks over the years! Sure enough, I had a couple of them confused. Although, my assessment of "The Bride", which is the one Sting is in, was right on. :D (It has a decent storyline I suppose, but is not true to the book and imho is not at all scary.)

'Eh, imho, it's too much of a ROTFLMAO flick to be a 'horror' flick, but it is one of my all time favorite comedy movies I can and DO quote! :)

Yippee! I just haaaave to share my happiness with you all at long last finding one of the movies I've been mentioning!!! I hope to own a piece of my early teenage years before the year is over. (Amazon.com ROCKS! It's great buying good used cds and flicks for very little coinage.) I've no idea why I was able to find it now, other than it's most likely there's been a lot more info added to the internet since I last did a search. I'm supposing the other flick will be much more difficult to find, although I'm not too keen on owning that one, I'd simply like to know it's title.

"Psychomania"

Year: 1971
Run Time: 95 min.
An annoying devil-worshipping British biker gang calling themselves "The Living Dead" decide to take their moniker to heart when their leader commits suicide and is brought back from the dead in an occult ritual, thanks to a Satanic pact. Realizing that becoming zombies could be even more fun than the usual day-to-day hell-raising, most of the gang follow suit; throwing themselves off buildings, into traffic, walls, etc. Without the annoyance of death to contend with, The Living Dead become even more obnoxious than usual, leading to a pat solution from their leader's peeved mother (Beryl Reid). Outrageously dated and featuring loads of unintentional laughs, this is still the finest movie ever made about British zombie biker gangs and features the stately Reid turning into a giant frog.

I still love Night of the Living Dead, the original. Love me some brains. Spicey!
