Johnny, you so love pointing out hypocrisy of conservatives. You can because you are a self stated moderate. So many here are waiting for moderates like you to give some equal time pointing out the hypocrisy of liberals. Your lack of any criticism of liberals would point out that you do see any thing wrong and you agree with their politics. (which would be odd for a moderate)songsmith wrote:Lisa wrote: I agree with Palin. And I do not see a flip flop going on with her views on this.
The flip-flop (and I love that this is a Neocon term coined during the last election, and is now being used against them) is not on the part of Sarah Palin. The flip-flop is the appearance that, the very people who insist that teen pregnancy is a symptom of liberal morals and loose parenting are now singing a completely different tune. Gov. Palin isn't flip-flopping, she's just ignoring the conservative notion that good kids with strong parents don't get knocked up, and good for her. The flip-flop is by the so-called conservatives who support her. A week ago teen pregnancy signaled poor parenting and liberal morals. Now it doesn't.
Oddly, hypocrisy has swung America just a bit more to the center. That's cool as hell. It happened with the Larry Craig scandal, too. People had to admit that all men are pigs, even the uber-conservative gay ones.---.JMS

So not saying anything is an admission of something...undercoverjoe wrote:Your lack of any criticism of liberals would point out that you do see any thing wrong and you agree with their politics. (which would be odd for a moderate)
To do the same thing as you, and extend an argument to mean something else... If someone were to just "ignore" a conspiracy theory, they agree with it?

Re: I think
Ya know the reason I think bush got elected last time? Do you remember how there were reports all over the media about Bin Laden threatning to attack any state that voted for him? Well, Bin Laden sealed it for him.tornandfrayed wrote:I think that ya'll voted for Bush should just walk on down and vote for McCain. I mean WTF?

Bush won because of idiots. Seems we agree there.

I point out Neo hypocrisy because there are so many here who would ignore it. I truly wanted to patriotically support Bush in the war on terror, but he went to the wrong country, and nobody stopped him. He and his cronies have driven this country to a weak place, and snuck past checks and balances by using executive privilege and doing everything secretly. The press you Neos hate is the only way to keep this administration in check, and they DO need to be kept in check.
If it seems I'm too left-wing, I assure you, I am a centrist moderate. I'm just left-wing when compared to the far-right a-holes in charge right now. I don't filter politics through Christianity, the "free" market economy where gov't favors and supports the biggest businesses, or any other far-right extremist bull. If that makes me another Marxist lib, SO BE IT. Think what you will.--->JMS

John McCain voted with Bush 95% of the time. Having said that who the hell wants another George Bush? Who in their right mind wants this country to continue on the track it's been going the past 8 years?
I am conservative on many topics (abortion and guns) but I have changed to a democrat because I see now that Republicans win elections by tapping into the FEARS of their (sometimes) racist, religious, and (on occassion) bigot followers. HOWEVER! I am NOT saying being republican makes you ANY of those....but...history has it, that those are the kind of people that vote for Bush. And I myself have been guilty of it.
There IS a bigger picture in this world than war now. John McCain is a great war hero, but war is just uncivilized in my opinion. We need to quit flexing our military muscles and sticking our noses in places where it doesn't belong.
I want change! Not more of the same.
Put the billions we've put in this war and invest it in aids and cancer research, or alternative fuel sources.
And for God's sake, quit referring to MARRIAGE as a "TRADITIONAL INSTITUTION"...because SLAVERY was also a traditional institution. We learn, we accept, we OUT GROW. Otherwise, we are destined to forever remain the same.
I will not fight for a president that will not fight for the rights of human beings!

Oh yeah...and I have Bill O'Reilly's autograph. Who wants to buy it off me?
I used to be a fan and he just turns my guts anymore when I hear the ideas that come out of his wrinkled lips.
His power is in his controversy, and I'm sorry, but the man has made his fair share of mistakes.
