Next: I took another canvas, and a picture of the Mona Lisa. I was capable of re-creating a masterpiece, just by looking at it. It took almost no effort whatsoever.

At the end of the day i was more proud of my dogshit illustration of Santa with his head up his ass. Simply because I made it myself.
Yeah, but if you were able to recreate the Mona Lisa perfectly, detail for detail, why couldn't you paint a decent picture of Santa with his head up his ass? I mean, come on ...

This has been one of the best hijacks in quite a long time. Therefore, I think it's time to confer my seal.

Wow. To suggest that people who play covers are uneducated and do not care about politics, etc has got to be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Dude THAT is just retarded. And to infer that learning covers takes "almost no effort whatsoever" is just about as stupid as well. I don't mean to distract from the topic of the thread but just couldn't let this one go.

Awesome! A self-righteous, original "artist" found a way to bash cover bands in a political thread! WOO-HOO!!!

Yes, I play in a cover band so I have no passion, no desire to make the world a better place ... and no brain apparently.

Uh yeah, whatever. Some posts don't have anything to do with you, sorry.

I have been to your shows I am sorry if I pissed you off. Maybe bad wording on my part. I thought that I pretty much try to support a lot of bands and local music. I have been to a lot of shows around here and seen a lot bands. I bring a lot of bands in and record them for nothing because I want to support local musicians and help out guys who might not have the means to get sa studio recording.I am sorry that you seem to dislike me even though we have only ever met at your show. I guess you got part of it right though, I really didn't mean to piss you off.

I acknowledge that I prefer original music but what the hell, I also prefer white girls! Big deal.

Anyway you can check out my posts. I have had the same user name for the entire time I have been on Rockpage. I am not perfect but it saddens me to think that I am spewing venom.

Sorry.

Until my next venonous post......

after reading that post again I don't think I said anything bad about cover bands. The truth is that there are cover bands and there are other bands. The only point was that a politically active band would be more likely to be an original band. I don't want to hijack this thread, the post was political in nature and you turned it into a cover band thing. I think you read to much into this stuff sometimes.

Peace!

Your point (referencing your own words) that people who simply learn covers and play them on the weekends aren't as educated as "artists" who create, no matter what the end product of your originality turns out to be, is what turned this in to a covers vs. originals thing.

You also suggested that people like myself with limited intelligence don't care and perhaps don't understand the political process which, as old sKool said, is just retarded.
