I'm not voting at all.
I will not take part in allowing any or all of these Spiritual Retards to ruin this country any further. Any one of them is able to do that ....like the rest of our past Presidents. I'll sit back and watch....knowing I did not take part. If anyone thinks they are making a difference....GET A GRIP!!
I will say that the Republicans have gave us plenty of war......Great....(that's sarcasm)....let's go Democrats.....Socialism.......(sarcasm).

That was "None of the above", Rob.

If we get another republican president....I'll move to Canada. I've had enough right wing religionists running this country (with their fingers in the oil).

What exactly is a spiritual retard?

I can't tell if you mean "spiritually challenged"

or

those persons are retards because they are spiritual.

Maybe its none of the above, but it would put some context into your post.

I am not voting for a Dem or a Rep, but you should know who you are leaving the country for. John McCain in not very religious at all. He has never been in the oil business. His wife is not in the oil business either, she runs a giant beer distributorship. So if you want to leave for Canada over Big Beer, au revoir.

If beer prices skyrocket the same way gas prices have, I predict some pretty violent riots in America.

Change?? What- for the worse? If Obama is elected I predict it will be just like the Carter administration all over again only worse because there will be a left wing radical in the White House along with a left wing majority in Congress.

Well here we are again! Anybody changed parties or political beliefs since the great debate on Rockpage has begun? Judging from the previous posts I don't think so.

You are about as likely to change my mind as I am yours, right? So then the debate goes on and in most cases it is a logical discussion among peers, should not be that scary or irritatingly to most.

So I will be the butthead that says the obvious, if you don't want to read it skip it. Sounds easy does it not? So do it and there should not be anyone ever again who says that politics do not belong on a music board.

That brings me to another thought. This is a music board, sorry amigos but Music and Politics are sort of intertwined. Artists tend to be passionate and also are usually well educated enough to have a political opinion. If you look back there have always been artists who have become involved in projects outside of music that they care about. It is the way it is.

That being said I don't believe that you have to be an artist to pick up an instrument and play in a local cover/bar band. So there in lies the meat of this discussion. There is a decidedly small group of people on here that want to make a difference in the world and also want to discuss it. There is another group that that does not care about politics because they have given up hope? Because they don't understand? Because they feel like they don't matter? because all they really need to do is play covers on the weekends and their lives are OK?

Can I get an "Amen"? That's right an "Amen"!

I don't get that! But, a lot of you probably don't get me. So here we have the eternal dilemma, I see that same things that you see but in a different way. We all know the same area and we all see this world yet there things that we cannot agree on no matter what. I can't even imagine how someone would have voted for GWB yet people did. I don't understand how people want to take away "Socialist" programs like food stamps, welfare and CHIPS, but they do.

Does One man have all the answers? Well yes but he died, was buried and then three days later rose from the dead and ascended to heaven.

So I don't see Obama or McCain as Christ but I do see hope in one of them. Weather you see it or not does not really matter. What matters is if the majority of us see it. If the majority of us see hope and vote for Obama then maybe we can change the world. And when the world changes those of you who don't give a shit get to reap the benefits as well. No one gets left behind. The analogy of Jesus and the lost sheep comes to mind. Jesus leaves the 99 and goes to find the one lost sheep. I always saw that as the sheep was lost and was happy when Jesus found him and returned him home. But,,, what if the sheep was at Aldo's and did not want to come home? What if Jesus found him then had to drag him kicking and screaming back to the fold? Just a side thought....

I will never give up on Hope because I know that it exists. I will never give up on politics because it is a means to an end, in this case to change the world and make a better place for the next generation.

Divided we are weak, together we are strong!

So here we go again, Right?

Spiritual Retards are those that are lacking the Soul.
Retarded in that they care not of others and disregard all emotion other than their own.....I want to push them into the Abyss....my bad. But, someone has to be the Super Heroe.
I am writing a book. "I am on a rock ...covered with water . Floating around a burning ball of gas with a bunch of idiots"...NICE TITLE....Huh.

As Americans

Post by tornandfrayed »

As Americans we have some inherent problems. The biggest problem is that every single vote counts the same. What that means is that someone who is less educated or not so in touch with current events has the same power as someone who is deeply intelligent and watches the flow of our society on a regular basis.

This is a problem as much as it is a strength. This allows for the "majority" to exist, not necessarily be heard

As much as I do sometimes like the "Burst into balls of flame" theory, it does not work in the long run.

Imagine trying to appeal to the mass diversity that we call the American Public. Talk about "you can make some of the people happy, some of the time..."

I also do agree that greed and self absorption are rampant in our society, it is plainly evident in a lot of today's youth.

That is exactly why I would march in Washington against social programs and march in Harrisburg for them.

Unfortunately, we have all grown up with this post WWII Washington mentality that somehow, a bunch of bureaucrats in DC can solve problems in Altoona. They can't, they never have and they never will. This is because they were never meant to.

Blind Trusts for Congress.

Awesome! A self-righteous, original "artist" found a way to bash cover bands in a political thread! WOO-HOO!!!

Yes, I play in a cover band so I have no passion, no desire to make the world a better place ... and no brain apparently.

Yeah, every once in a while, Moses feels the need to come on here and spew venom towards us "non-artists" (albeit in a very slick, back-handed manner), usually for no reason whatsoever, as in this instance.

Watch for the disclaimer and explanation about how that's not what he really meant.
