since this IS a thread about favorite female vocalists, so I guess performance and feel and emotion don't play as much of a part in the choosing of your favorite as going strictly on vocal quality does
Well...which is it? The topic thread title is "BEST", not "FAVORITE" vocalist. My choice for "BEST" would be very different than my favorite...Maria Callas maybe. Where's that grammar-police guy?? :)

I totally forgot about k.d. You're right, one of the best voices ever.

I've only heard Trace sing once, but she belongs on this list as well.
