Emmylou Harris, and she is not a "country" singer, although she sold records to that audience.

Keeping in the Spirit of righteous Blues, Soul, and all that Jazz, we can't forget these great ladies, either: Josephine Baker, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Etta James, Nina Simone and Sarah Vaughan.

Going local. Paula Glunt has my vote hands down. I had the good fortune of working with her for a few years. She had a way of taking the band to higher levels, making us play better because she was such an incredible vocal force. I loved Tonya from Queen Bee also though I only met her a couple of times way back when at the US Hotel. That girl was soul. Trace Baker, Erika Marino, Krystal Shore, Liz Hale. All wonderful.

You will find more country performers that have more talent in their little finger than you will find rock performers who have in their whole body.
only in central pa. can you find people that think like you

Did you ever hear Exene do a remake of "We're Desperate" with Pennywise? Pretty good!
45 Grave was great!
