Below is an article on I found on WRTA's website this morning. We wanted to let everyone know that the information posted is incorrect.
In the article the Shriners stated that “Rumble in the Alleghenies” will officially replace “Roar in the Mountains,” which the Jaffa partnered with last year. First of all, The Shriners cannot "officially replace Roar in the Mountains". They have no ownership of the name and they are not a partner.
In the Altoona Mirror last week the Shriners stated that “the implicit partnership of the first two years conferred a kind of unofficial ownership of the event.”
WTF??? As we stated in our last post, the Shrine allowed Roar to use their PARKING LOT in exchange for food and beer sales. A partnership with the Jaffa was never implied or discussed. Does this mean that every event held at the Shrine is “unofficially owned” by the Jaffa, The Home and Garden Show, Merchandise Show, Health Fair, Wedding Extravaganza, etc.? Doesn’t it seem unethical that an organization can invest their time and resources sponsoring, funding, organizing and advertising an event only to have it stolen from them after it's off the ground and running?
If anyone would like to contact the Jaffa Shrine directly to express your views on this matter, here is the address they have posted on their site:

New Motorcycle Rally Planned for Region

There is a new motorcycle rally planned for Blair County.
Jaffa Shrine officials announced the details of their “Rumble in the Alleghenies” event during a news conference on Thursday. The rally will be held September 19th through the 21st.
“Rumble in the Alleghenies” will officially replace “Roar in the Mountains,” which the Jaffa partnered with last year. The Shriners say they wanted their own event that was more family friendly and allowed the whole community to participate.
Organizers say they will now be able to control the types of events, vendors and music that surround the rally. And Jaffa potentate Darrel Bathurst says the rally will benefit the community and the Jaffa Shrine organization.
Two major motorcycle rides are planned, including trips to the Horseshoe Curve and Legion Park in Hollidaysburg. The group is working with motorcycle awareness group ABATE, who is a sponsor.
