Hawk, I'm thinking that you will change the sound of the snare? I would ask on Drumsmith.com, I'm sure that all metal shells are tuned by hammering and the head tension.

I am switching from dish to direct. If your looking for HD and DVR direct has the best prices for what you get. Direct has more HD channels for less money. I'm paying about $98 a month with dish with 200 channels and about 45 HD (no dvr's if I add 2 the cost goes up $10). With dish I will 200 channe...

That's why I believe in a flat percentage tax for everyone. Are you talking about something like this that got shot down in 2006 by congress? This bill didn't even make it to the floor!! WHY?? http://www.heritage.org/Research/Taxes/bg1866.cfm Why not look at a flat tax on goods sold instead of inco...

They will only cut a 45 single on acrylics. I don't know the reason for this but they told me that when I called. I will be using them for a little of everything but more of the heavier rock side. I'm still going to use a Maple snare. I'm realy interested in sound! The only live acrylics I have hear...

Drum shells?

I have been trying to get info on acrylic IRC shells. I have played the old acrylics but I'm told that the new IRC's are better. If anyone has any input I would love to hear from you. A friend of mine just saw this guy ( http://www.christianhoffe.com/ ) play and said that his drums sounded awsome. I...

I thought that was what you where trying to say! ( I really did ) I just didn't want anyone thinking that they are BAD to use. The only time I use them is when I'm mic'ed. CCdrums brought up a really good point, If you are using a muffled head please don't use anything else. PS: PLEASE DON'T CUT THE...

I use NO MUFFLING WHATSOEVER on anything except a very small pad in the kick drum barely touching both heads. Proper tuning will give you that "sound" that you're looking for, not moon gel. :D I do not agree with you. It's also about the sound that you want. Some peole don't like an open ...

I had a set of Tircks but I really didn't like them. I go on Drumsmith.com all the time. That's how I got the idea. Some one on Drummerworld I ...

Hawk, Yes the ply's would have to be thicker. I'm not sure the glue is added to thickness of the ply. Reinforcement rings would be a must! Keller will make anything you ask them to. I do know that there 5 ply is 0.13 inch (3.3 mm) thick. That's what I'm getting. I'm thinking thats really close to th...
