Music at the Superbowl

Post by RobTheDrummer »

I liked the "fake" digital drumsets at pre-game. They weren't in sync with the music and they took them right off stage after they played the first bit. Haha, those things have a lot of wires and stuff, somehow, the music kept playing....I don't get it? :D

Also, Stevie Wonder kicks ass. But why do these things always turn into...How many people can we get dancing on the stage at one time? I mean come on, play the music!

What did you think of the Half time show? I thought that it was one of the better ones that I have seen recently.

I was amazed that at their ages they could put out a few high energy songs in a row without having to call any EMTs or grab a stretcher.

I hope I still have that energy when I am in my 60s.

I thought it was impressive.

No bulllshit just straight Rock and Roll.

I thought they did a really good job recreating that authentic early 60s out of tune guitar sound.

My guess is that they have been doing some heavy partying all night last night. No sleep , half drunk, half hung over, and still rocking live at the Super Bowl!.....................................wow , that's my goal when I'm 60. Doesn't get any better !

I guess you can argue and say the stones suck, I mean with such a shitty catalog of music and fuck, you never know thay could break up tomorrow! I guess I just like "Sucky" bands! Go figure! Through it all I am able to find talent and goodness in alot of different styles! U2 sucks too! I have even been known to enjoy other genres of music! Go figure!

I thought the stage design was an awesome idea for the stones. They played ok, but I personally liked the U2 performance from a few years ago way better than this years half time.

You'd think we'd put more American artists on an American game's half time show though. U2, Paul McCartney, Rolling Stones.

Lets just broadcast all the half time shows from England from now on.

I agree...American Football...American Artists too!

You know..a few years ago at Harley's 100 Anniversary in Milwaukee...we all waited all week for the big bash. There were tons of great bands throughout the week...but the BIG band was kept a secret and there was a lot of hype around it. We waited for hours in a huge field filled with a half-million people...you know who the big final act was...ELTON FREAKING JOHN!! Yes...that's who every Harley rider wanted to see! Don't get me wrong, I think he has ta  lent...but in that genre...good lord! Fortunately, prior to Elton's act...they did have Kid Rock...and he was incredible. Sadly, when Elton came out on stage, it was a mass exodus - I think the Davidson's got the hint that they blew it.

I thought that the halftime show sucked. It was pretty damn boring for me, minus the feeling that I was about to watch another Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel.

The Stones sucked, The guitars were either out of tune or Keith was so fucked up he couldnt rememer what key they were in, and the solos were terrible and way off. But what can you expect from a bunch of 70 year old men.

Good point, and no Mariah Carey types either.

I want the Allman Brothers for next year: Greg's not going to last forever.

I think next year they will have kiss or led zepplin. They seem to be going on that 60's 70's thing lately .. Maybe they realized that people hate hip hop, and j-lo ???
