Kirk and Carlos

Post by Banned »

Has anybody heard the new song on Carlos' new cd, with Kirk Hammet and also Robert Randalph on steel pedal. I have not heard the whole thing, just the teaser 10 seconds at FYE.

Kirk has always listed Carlos as one of his mentors and now they are finally playing together.

The 10 seconds I heard sound AWSOME.

Hasn't anyone heard this song with Kirk and Carlos?

I am interested in others reviews.

The song is called "Trinity" and it is off the "All that I am" album. I liked "supernatural" but this is getting old. I wish that Santana would just release an album like he use to instead of getting all the guest stars. He is a great guitar player.

And the song "Trinity" is OK, nothing too special I don't think.

What's the Robert Randolph song called? Do you know if he used the rest of the Robert Randolph Band?
.

All kinetic, no potential.

I wonder how long it will be before James gets all pissed off at Kirk for doing a side project. Lets face it he diden't like when Newsted did his little side project with Echo Brain. Metallica is done " So bad, So Sad"

On the song "Trinity", Kirk and Robert Randalph play some great giutar harmonies with Carlos. It has a very rich full, all tube guitar tone. Anyone who likes guitar harmonies would like it.

I am getting a little tired of Carlos' new recording technique. I wish he sould stop using every pop singer around to sing on his music. Just pick 1 good singer and make a cd.

Maybe Kirk will play lead solos again, no matter what Lars thinks.

I agree. Another thing that Carlos is doing that I don't like is it seems like he just comes in after all of the tracks are laid down and records his fills/solos. It's almost like his guitar work is an after-thought. I'd rather he record an album with a more "live" feel, like his earlier work.
