Excellent Customer Service!!!

Post by Jim Price »

Here's a little story I thought I'd share.

A few weeks ago on my "Closet Chronicles" show (Sundays 10 PM to midnight on Q94, shameless plug), I blew the dust off an album from 1976; the self-titled one and only album from a Los Angeles-based band called Marcus. I had bought this album years ago from a cut-out bin for 99 cents, it was pretty good mid-70's era heavy rock/metal.

The group's singer and namesake was Marcus Malone, who originally was from Detroit. In doing some internet research on Marcus, I discovered that when his band fizzled, Marcus packed up and moved to England, and years later has become one of the most respected performers on the British and European blues circuits. I also discovered he has some albums out, including his latest, called Blue Radio. Through his website (www.marcusmalone.com), I linked through to another website, DWM Music, which sells his albums here in the States. I listened to a few mp3 samples of his music, and ordered the Blue Radio album.

DWM Music sent me the album within two days of my order, and even enclosed a souvenir pen. Then just today, I received another package from DWM Music. I noticed when I received the CD that the tray card had a crease down the middle of it. No big deal, the CD itself and CD case were in good shape; and the creased tray card didn't bother me. Inside the package I received today was a new tray card for the CD, and a letter of apology for the creased tray card, even though I never sent any complaint about the original one.

That's what I call Excellent Customer Service!!!

And the CD is pretty good, look for a review in The Final Cut in "JP's Corner" sometime soon.
