Roll call for the PLCB meeting

Post by bassist_25 »

Sorry Ron is this should be in the law forum, but I wanted to expose it to the largest amount of people possible.

Anyways, if you are attending the meeting at Magoo's in Cresson this Sunday, January 29th, please post in this thread. This dicussion is open to both musicians and fans alike, so nobody should feel alienated.

Sunday, January 29th
Magoo's in Cresson
5:00 P.m.

See everyone there. Be sure to check out http://rockpage.net/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=8866 if you want to read up on this.

I'll probably get there if I can remember that far in advance.

I'd like to piggy back on Paul here... ( not literally, the poor boy could never hold me  ) I'd like to open this meeting to entertainers... the reality is folks, eventually, we're all gonna be affected due to the way the ordinance is written. SO... everyone who wants to keep their right to entertain in any establishment needs to join in!!

Has anyone done any research into any groups that could give advice on this subject? I've read about different musicians unions... even approached a few through email on the subject but haven't gotten any response. We need to start a national Musicians United to Stop Impending Censorship outreach/group or something and get a ton of members so that our voices are heard.... okay, maybe I'm getting ahead things....

I sent a letter to the AFM several months ago asking if they had dealt with anything like this, or if they could offer any advice on how to proceed. But I never heard anything back from them.

If it was PLCB, the club owner can write/email the plcb for legal information on noise levels, etc. They will give their legal interpitation of the law (did I spell that right?) Then the establishment just needs to keep that response on file and if an officer was to come and issue anything otherwise they are protected.

So far, I've not heard of any of the bars in Houtzdale having these problems. I know that we have real good neighbors.

A real good idea.

or should he be brought in after this first meeting??? It might look better if we have our collective shit together.

If you want fans of music, I will pop in.

Hello From Johnstown Pa,
This is Steve, fellow musician and owner of the Country Inn Bar & Grille just outside of Johnstown. I am knee deep in this shit with the PLCB and I just heard of this meeting you all are having at McGoo's in Cresson. I know all of you are tired of loosing gigs in establishments all over this area and your right, we do need to get something together. I started working on this situation with our legislators from Harrisburg about a month ago. I am finally meeting with Pa. State Senator John Wozniak Thursday morning Jan 26th. I have alot to share with him and I will tell him also about the meeting that is happening at McGoo's in Cresson. I will be in Cresson to share with all of you the steps we need to take to get this done. Let me first tell you that it has been tried in the past and that law has never been amended. Maybe it's because enough people didn't press our law makers hard enough. On Sunday, I need as many other bar owners there as possible. I will fill everyone in on what we can do right now. This is the perfect time for this. It is election year. And not only that, but the PLCB meets this Summer to discuss Statutes. If anyone wants to get a hold of me, you can contact me at The Country Inn at 814-495-3099. Or email me at steve@countryinnbar.com
I look forward to seeing many supporters on Sunday the 29th at McGoo's.
Till then,
Keep on Rocking in the free world. Or what we think is the free world.
