Looking for opinion on keyboard with minimum expense

Post by Killjingle »

Any opinions on a decent keyboard with 1/4 output, midi I/O, ---sampling not important. I am not a good keyboardist by any stretch of the imagination, but I would like to pick one up to add dynamics to a song or two... I can play it well enough to perform the aforementioned...

I got a cheap Yamaha synth from ebay about 2 years ago and it got alot of cool shit on it for being from the 80's and all, I think I paid 200 for it. I would check there if your lookin for the cheap way out. But if your not as cheap as me you could check Guitar Center's used boards out, thats where my band got our Korg Karma Workstation, I think is was a 2003 model and we got it for like 900 it was 1500 new. There is nothing better than a Metal band with a snyth. MINISTRY and KMFDM GIVE ME WOOD. But then agian I am a sick fat Fawk.

If you are looking at new ones, the Alesis QS6.2 is loaded for under $500. You won't find a better grand piano anywhere near its class. One nice feature that none of the other cheap keys have is a midi playback sequencer. It also happens to be the smallest and lightest 61-key made and will fit in some 49key hard bags. They go for low $300s used.
