I've said it 1,000 times before ... some of my most cherished memories from this scene occurred at PETER C's ... I can't count all the people I now call friends who I met there.

Good luck, Big John anf Jodie. Thank you for everything you did for me over the years. I hope to stop by sometime before the end.

Thanks, John. I've been playing there since soon after you began having entertainment, and many of my favorite onstage moments happened there. I'd also like to add that, while some said it was a "rough" place, in all these years I personally never saw a single fight, nor anything illegal... which is far more than I can say for other local establishments. My 10th anniversary T-shirt still looks like new, I'll wear it proud! Good luck in your future endeavors.
Any word on what will become of the place?--------->JMS

Say it ain't so. :(

Thank you so much for providing the fertile ground where so many of us have planted the seeds of our live music careers. Altoona may never again see a club where all bands played on a level field, regardless of genre, experience, or name recognition.

Big thanks to Big John and Jody for all the hospitality you've shown me over the years. I've had many enjoyable good times at Peter C's, and there won't be another place like it. I will definitely miss it!

I think it's already safe to say that this year's annual Hurricanes "Turkey Night Jam" should be a legendary night. Rockpagers mark it on your calendars now!

Hope all goes well for you John. You were the first bar owner around here to give us a shot. And we thank you for that. Sad to see you go. But good memories last forever.

Oh wow...I knew the end was coming,
but didn't think it would be so soon...I was still not quite over
a neck/headache from Wednesday,
or I'd have been there last night.
Why, just last Thursday was another "one to remember"... Dick Kos was playing with Felix, Bobby, Jeff and Barney and then when Trace, aka Chicksinga, sang several Blues soaked, Soulful, tunes, her last being "Whipping Post", she brought the house down! I will be there next Thursday come hell, high water OR headache and I'll try my best to be there Turkey night...if I'm not, know I'll be there in Spirit! Best wishes to you John, Jody and Dave - to all I've met - the "puppy" too - and thank you for having and running an establishment I've always felt safe in.

Thank you BigJohn and the Peter C's and crew. I played my first live rock performance there a few years ago, and although I try to forget my horrendous playing that night, I'll never forget what an impression it left on me, seeing and meeting fellow Rockpagers for the first time. It was truely awesome! Thanks again!

John,

For the last 8 years, The Grimm has called Peter C's our home....we would relish the chance to get to be on that stage one more time. During the last few years, The Grimm Xmas shows (How the Grimm Stole Xmas, Merry Grimm-mas, etc) have become a tradition for us....any chance we could convince you to give us one more Friday or Saturday night in December?

We (and some other musical friends of ours) would love a chance to say goodbye.

Let me know,

That's something I'd agree with. When I think of Peter C's, I always think of the Grimm. When I think of the Grimm, I think of Peter C's. I'm not knocking the other bands you've had there and had them be like family, but the Grimm be the only band I can think of to give Petey C's one last Harahh... ::sniffles:: I'm going to miss the shows there and then the kings' times afterwards.

Good luck with everything guys. I just hope whatever Petey C's becomes after this will be cool...I'm gonna miss it.

No words

Post by Imgrimm01 »

I cannot find words to describe what John Jodi and Peter C's has meant and will always mean to THE GRIMM, When NO other club in town wanted to touch an all original Progressive metal act , John welcomed us to his stage and we have had some VERY memorable shos through the years, I hope John will consider our request but if Not Salute' my dear friends I wish you well.

Think I've only been there maybe twice. Small place but nice. They do make good White Russians.

Good luck with any future projects there John.

Big John, I have many memories from the day when Nevermoure was often playing there. I wish you, Jody and Julia all the best.

I definatley have to agree. While Peter C's isn't a fancy bar, I've never felt to need to watch over my shoulder whenever I would be there. I've played other places where that wasn't so true (I won't name names though).

PETER C's ... wow, I've been thinking about all the good times there over the past day or so since this thread went up and ... holy sh*t ... I really did have some great times there. It is truly sad to see it go.

I think I may have seen or jammed with people from over 100 different bands there ... Felix and the Hurricanes, Halestorm, Stept On, Nevermoure, Saucemonster, Vendt, Xpendable, Judgement, Fat Vinny and the Wiseguys, Broken Neck, The Grimm ... (the list goes on and I will add to it as they come to me, sorry, still waking up from last night) What a cool chapter in local music.

Hat's off and huge THANKS again to Big John and Jodi. I still remember my first night on your stage and I always loved climbing on your railings. Your hospitality has always been top-notch and I always felt like I was at home, sitting at your bar, watching "Millionaire." LOL

Good luck.

John and Jody are very good friends of mine and I believe this sell is a chance for a new life for them and have high hopes for everything they will do in the future...
I'm sure after so many years running a bar and the stress it causes they deserve a break! I've played there so many times I couldn't even count and they have helped me out in ways others I'm sure wouldn't have.
SO HERE'S WHAT I PROPOSE........
All you bands that played there in the past and still present. With these last show's......show up, pay the cover, show your graditude and say thanks for all the great times you had!
This will give them a few extra bucks and a good feeling for what their doing.
If anyone has any idea's for anything.....please pass them along on here.

Best of luck, Big John and Jodi - you guys were among the most loyal supporters of local music I have ever witnessed, whether here in PA or back in Ohio (Cleveland and Cincinnati). You are terrific people, and I hope that whoever bought the place will continue to support the local scene and continue the high standars you set for running a cool joint, but even more so for being great people.

Good luck, in whatever lies ahead.

And I think subimeman hits it on the head - there should be one huge last blowout with everyone from RockPage (and the local scene in general) that can make it in the house. I'm definitely coming down from State College for at least one.
