CRAP! My son had that Surgery when he was 16 - it doesn't look good for Ben for the rest of the season...unless they used Lasers
or did it in some way to cut his
recuperation time down...it just does not look good at all, poor guy, poor Steelers, poor us.
Maybe Batch will surprise us all!
I'd rather see what he can do than use Maddox.

YaY! @ the thought of at the beginning of the year every dumb pennsylvanian in this state was just going to cash their entire lifes savings in the bank and bet on an "All Pennsylvania Super Bowl" only for those dreams to get dashed because both teams's star quarterbacks are hurt and withou their star quarterbacks, they are NOTHING lol

To yay at someone's plight, and this is coming from a Steeler fan of many years, lends me to say this to you:
Fuck off.
If youth knew; if age could.
Echoing Punkinhead's thoughts here ... Fuck off.Punkinhead wrote:To yay at someone's plight, and this is coming from a Steeler fan of many years, lends me to say this to you:

Nothing worse than a non-fan cluttering up with bullshit a thread he's only responding to for one purpose: To be a jerk-off ...

If you hate the Steelers, cool, start your own thread, but to raz fans because you don't like their team — especially over an injury — is quite juvenile.

Medcial experts in the Steelers training facility said, due to the fact that Ben is "awsum" and has lots of EN_ER_GY, they definitely thought it would be appropriate to use lasers for the procedure.YankeeRose wrote:... it doesn't look good for Ben for the rest of the season...unless they used Lasers ...

for the record, I'm not much of a Steeler fan but I love football, (The Steelers, the Redskins the Raiders and anybody playing Dallas, Yeah)
Can we all lighten up, please. First of all, it's arthroscopic surgery, that means they cut a small hole (smaller than a dime) in to his leg, stick a probe down into the knee, clip out the bad cartilidge and then repair the hole, he'll be STANDING on the sidelines on sunday, Ben's fine.
second of all, they're playing Green Bay, who has no defense to speak of, rated 15th over all in the NFL, against a top 10 Steeler offense, (who's gonna win THAT battle) and the Vegas line on the game is Steelers - 6,
Hell I could play Quarterback and hand off to Willie and Bus and they'd have a chance
Ben Will be Back next week, don't sweat it even if it takes longer, Charlie Batch is a good kid, with that O-line to protect him, he'll have no trouble hitting, Hines and Antwon and The TE (Miller?) for TD passes
The Steelers will WIN on sunday.
as to AtoMikEnRtiA
what kind of no class jack off cheers at someone being injured.
At Redskin/Dallas games (the most vicuos rivalry in Football) they clap for a guy getting up from injury even if he is on the other team
Shame on you and your mother for not teaching you manners

Me personally i am not a fan of the steelers but i hate to see a good player go down and not beable to play because he needs surgery or anything. Keeping in mind that i don't have a problem with the steelers. I am an Oakland Fader fan. OOPs i mean Raider fan LOL. But that sucks when you star players get hurt and that can make the outcome of a season go a different way. Also now is it McNabb that tore his ACL,MCL, and PCL. Or was that Dante Culpepper i heard that on the radio yesterday but i couldn't catch the whole story. Either way I can't imagine how that would feel.
I think Batch will do fine for you guys no worries. Believe me being a fan of the raiders i have had many ups and downs with the team. More downs then anything. But chin up and everything will be alright.

aw jesus people take a joke - i wasnt cheering at roethlesberger being hurt. i was laughing at anything that will lead to the demise of the pittsburgh steelers..
as a life long Raiders fan (say what you want - we've won 3 of the last 4 games) i have always had a deep rooted hatred for the steelers - it's nothing personal on any of you - it's just i hate the fact that the MAJORITY (operative word: majority) of steelers fans are knowledgeless, ignorant jackoffs who couldnt tell the 50 yard line from a clothesline.
where the hell did any of you see where i was laughing at rothlessberger being hurt? if im not mistaken - i believe i said something to the effect of no pa superbowl because both teams suck w. their quarterbacks hurt - and that is well.. the truth? lets see pittsburgh win even 5 games with charlie batch and/or tommy maddox. not happening. ever.

rob, i wasnt insulting you or anybody on here. i think its just a mis-understanding on everybodys part that leads to all this jumping on eachother bullshit, im not down with that so lets all lighten up - and actually discuss something here worth productivity like next week's games =)BadDazeRob wrote:id rather slice my throat than wear a denver broncos starter jacket - green bay can fuck off as well - and thats another thing i never quite understood about people - whats the big fuckin deal if somebody doesn't like the team that represents the state they live in? just because i live in pennsylvania - doesnt mean im forced to like the steelers - last time i checked this wasnt russia.. and if you want to be technical about that - my grandparents are from new york, and they're patriots fans - my great grandparents are from new york - i dont know who they likes, my great great grandparents are from slovakia - who would they like? bratislava doesnt have a pro team - neither does prague or vienna, warsaw or anywhere else. my point is - it may be traditionalist to like the team that represents your state of residence, but it's also traditionalist if a perspective team has been passed down thru generations.Punkinhead wrote: Lemme guess ... my mother is a raiders fan - ive been a raiders fan ever since i started watching football - in the same way i am a philadelphia flyers fan, in the same way I am a atlanta braves fan (even when they were miserable) the same reason I have been a Bayern Munich fan - tradition, passed down - so what if i hate the steelers - im not wishing knee injuries on anybody because I myself have nothing left in my right knee from countless injuries and surgery.
i think some of you are quick to jump on me for all of this, and you all should be ashamed of yourself - fat vin, saying shame on me and my mother for not teaching me manners.. im sorry, but who the fuck are you to suggest that, you've never seen me before in your life, you've never seen my mother before in your life, who the fuck are you to suggest what my mother taught me and what she didnt - you know what? she probably didnt lol - my parents didnt teach me much, but you know what - instead of doing what a lot of people have done in their lives and use that to get fuckin pity and sympathy - i taught myself this shit, and at 20 years old Im already better off than my parents ever could have been - no disrespect Vin, but dont suggest something you have no idea about lol =)

Maddox has not done well as of late, but he was come back player of the year several seasons ago. He also took the Steelers to the playoffs. The
Raiders haven't done jack for years. Sowhat if they actually beat the Black & Gold several of the past few games, so have other teams. The post season is what counts! The Raiders won't be there.
I've had the surgery they are speaking of regarding Ben, and it isn't that bad. He'll be fine in very short order. I recouped in a few weeks, not 100%, but still okay. Steelers fans don't be distressed! I'm not.
Not knocking ya, you cheer for who you like.
Can't we all get along!

Im not saying we will be this season - we've won 3 of our last 4 games this season though - and if we can beat Kansas City - we stand a good chance of getting back in it however. Ive said it from day one - the Steelers.. are a good team, BUT they are not as good as everybody makes them out to be - they have been very very inconsistent this season, one week they play great, the next they dont - Monday nite was no different - there is no reason the steelers shouldnt have dickslapped Baltimore and ended that game in 2 quarters - instead they come back and win by what, 1 point? This one week after dismantling a Bengals team that I still think will reach the AFC Title game..skippisode wrote:E.O.A.

Tommy Maddox has been a joke his entire career - in the XFL he was a joke, it just happened to be he was the best player in a league full of jokes. That season in Pittsburgh he looked like god, because Kordell Stewart was the quarterback then. Im sorry - but I could look like God if I replaced Kordell Stewart - the moment Tommy Maddox hurt his neck, was the death blow to a career filled with empty hype and endless mediocrity. Much like that of Rich Gannon, who I love for what he did for us for 5 years - but do I think he had a great career? No - he didnt have a good season until he met up with Jon Gruden and learned he was the absolute best West Coast offense quarterback of all time. Other than that his career sucked - Im just saying - I have Pittsburgh in the playoffs - have since day one.. but i dont have them going past round 2

The official word:
"Coach Bill Cowher said Roethlisberger will definitely miss Sunday's game against Green Bay. But it's possible he'll return as early as the Steelers' game Nov. 13 against Cleveland, even though the operation normally sidelines a player 10 to 14 days."
Statistically, teams don't do well after playing Monday night. Pittsburgh is no exception...their last loss was after Monday night AND it was without BB. They have one less day to heal, watch films and most importantly, get Batch his snaps. Fortunately, they are playing an NFC north team. Next best thing to a bye. Steelers will only need to score 17 points to win.

Unfortunately and I hate to say it, "not 100%" won't be good enough for Ben to play until he's healed...my son was in a cast and on crutches for weeks...I suppose it's possible his injury was worse than Ben's and Ben will be back sooner rather than later. We can hope and try to send Ben some Healing Energy!!!
I was literally BORN a Steelers fan, my dad was born and raised in the Steel City. Fans of other teams entering Steeler threads?
I'm with Punkinhead, BDRob and Vin on this. Telling us we're fucked,
the "YAY", saying we're dumb Pennsylvanians because we love our Steelers, et cetera. I really enjoyed him trying to insult us further by telling us we didn't know what he was "really" saying.

DUH! You didn't HAVE to mention names...we all know how to read.
Do NOT tell me what to do or patronize me. One thing I can tell you, no matter how much I dislike the Cowboys, I'd never say "YAY" over the injury of one of their players and that IS exactly what you did! You get the fuck over it and keep your non-fan negative shit out of Steeler Threads.

I can comprehend what someone is saying by what they wrote quite well. I think the above speaks for itself, but if I must point out a few things, it starts with the "YAY", later mentions "quaterbacks are hurt" and then ends with an

this my friend is NOT me laughing at misfortune - this is me laughing at fact. I promise you an All PA Superbowl will not happen, I promise you neither Pa team will make it to their conference championship much less the super bowl. Its also true without Ben Roethlesburger - the steelers are nothing - the same as the Eagles are nothing w/out Donovan McNabb..AtoMikEnRtiA wrote:YaY!
YaY! @ the thought of the beginning of the year every dumb pennsylvanian in this state was just going to cash their entire lifes savings in the bank and bet on an "All Pennsylvania Super Bowl" - that did happen, it may not have happened literally but in the last 4 years that's all you ever hear in this state "all pa super bowl this, all pa super bowl that" has it happened yet? NO - will it happen this year? NO. will it ever happen? Probably not. This has NOTHING to do with Ben Roethlesberger being hurt.. otherwise, dont you think i would have said "YaY! @ Ben Roethlesberger being hurt" think about it - if im going to be an arrogant jackoff - dont you think i'd go for the gold?
im done with this discussion because instead of debate on football - you turned this into a fuckin witch-hunt, you will not shame me or make me apologize because i have no reason to apologize - i stated my opinion, in a forum - WHICH IS WHAT FORUMS ARE FOR, or do we not remember this? and it gets shit upon. wow - lovely
