We Lost Another Venue

Post by tonefight »

Hopefully only temporary but Griffiths in Armaugh is not hosting bands for the time being, noise issues have been a problem and they decided it wasn't worth the hassle.

I think venues should put up sound protection whenever they decide they want to have live entertainment. Not just the bands are loud, PEOPLE are loud as well. Just a thought...

Well its true that there is some things a venue can do and this place has plans to work on that so hopefully it is temporary.

Hey Tony,

Have you heard anything about the Blue Goose?

Griff went by there the other day, and he said that there is a sign in the window that reads "Closed until further notice" , and there is also a "for sale" sign with a phone number in Virginia.

He also said that there was a telephone pole blocking the entrance to the parking lot.

I've heard some rumors about what happened there, but they are only rumors. I've tried to reach Norm by telephone to no avail. Norm is a good friend of our family, and I'm sure he did what he had to do.

I guess I had better take that gig off of our schedule.

Haven't heard anything on that John, but it does sound like you might as well cross it off. I guess the buisiness is getting even tougher.

Hey I Got An Idea !!!

Instead of playing in bars and have to worry if the PLCB is going to force them out of having bands...

Just have a huge Jam on the front steps of the PLCB lawn down in Altoona.
Everybody round up generators, find a couple flat bed trailers and oh yea
A HUGE 150,000 watt sound system and face everthing towards the PLCB building and turn it up real F**king loud and show the pricks
What Loud IS....

Awesome Thought Any Questions !!!!

What does the PLCB have to do with sound? Wouldn't that be with regular police to control noice ordinances?

No, all the places I've been hearing of having trouble was getting there fines from the LCB not the local or state police, and the court system from what I understand is rather unfair.
